Got an email yesterday from ShopTo saying I had FIFA 10 coming out to me today, so I was up and ready for the postie. Dog starts barking, so I expect the postie to be at the door, come down stairs to see 2 letters lying on my doormat, both to a house about 3 doors away, so I open the door to catch up with him, about a street away hes walking around listening to his music, told him what had happened and all he said was

''Post them to the right house then''

So I was like....''You haven't mixed our mail up and posted ours to somewhere else have you?''

''No''

Cheers for the help RM. Starting to wish Royal Mail are one of these companies that go bust and a bigger, better delivery service takes over!

Same here, these strikes haven't affected our area at all, thats not whats bothered me, just the postman and his attitude, no sorry or anything.
#10
dont you get some kind of credit if it doesnt turn up?

you can send anything you like back bought in the net under DSR within a time period and as long as its still sealed

Probably.

Although last year my local ASDA and Tescos was packed, and they ended up selling out soooo...thats not really an option for me :(

I recently received all my neighbours mail and assumed they had mine so went round to exchange. The cheeky sods wouldn't answer the door despite the fact I could hear them inside. I went round three times but ended up throwing it through their letterbox in disgust.

The posties are okay though, I bet it's a nightmare doing it every day.

Well the game isn't released till tomorrow, so usually get the game a day before with ShopTo. Plus they have put their pre-order guarantee on hold because of the strikes in London and stuff.

That's why I haven't posted their mail, just incase they have some of our mail, plus - it seems a bit of a shady couple that live in there so god knows.

aahh ok they covered themselves already then

you should be able to pick it up in most stores today........some stores sell as generic item then scan the game thru tomorrow
#16
Postie in question should be reported. Post them yourself. Hows about you do it not my job?

Nah, not round here mate, ASDA and Tesco in my area are on the ball, think they got a fine last time for selling Halo 3 like a week early. Will just hang out tomorrow for it, if its not here then hopefully it will be saturday - not out this weekend because of crappy tonsillitus so need to occupy myself with PLENTY of football :-D

That's what I felt like saying, he's getting paid to do it, not me. I don't know his name but I'm sure its the same guy that delivers to my area so it will be on the books at the sorting office I guess?

I had the same happen recently,i've seen the postie before but he wasn't the regular one,on this particular day,he asked me to take in a parcel for across the road without leaving them a card,so i could have kept it if i was unscrupulous.

Secondly he posted ALL of the mail for next door but one's in my letterbox,as i went out he was coming back and said he got the numbers mixed up(ya don't say !)

Then my sis who lives nearby told me he'd left a special delivery letter for her with neighbours a few doors down, again, she had no clue as he hasnt left a card and said neighbour brought it around.

SD is only supposed to be signed for at the address that's on it !!! not left down the road!!

No wonder mail goes missing:roll:

+1  if he's not posting the post to the correct houses then royal mail could end up with a lot of claims for items not arriving :whistling:

I would of expected an apology like any normal person would, take the mail from me and post it himself - I could be a dodgy guy for all he knows.

That's what I was fearing with my SD today - reason why I asked if there was any mail for my address.

Even SD these days aren't reliable - silly when you think about it. :?

These two are also a rather curious pair, I said hello when they moved in and got a favourable impression. They never seem to go to work and there is regularly some sort of karaoke drone that sounds like chanting from the Wicker Man - it's certainly not Singstar.

Perhaps they are in a cult?

That's probably why you wouldn't make it as a postie then :p

Just because theres alot of mail to be posted, dosen't mean they can just post it to any house and let the public deal with it - they might aswell put all the mail in a skip, whack it on the front street and we all sort through it.......

The management will welcome feedback about these problem postal operatives so complain.

It does all your neighbours a favour as well, since he is no doubt screwing up thier deliveries and possibly causing a lot of grief to a lot of people, such as kids waiting for their birthday presents and cards to be delivered, people waiting for their passports to arrive "just in time", etc.

Besides which they are not allowed to be rude to the customers.

That's GAME for you though, I reckon they send out despatch emails when they haven't even got the stock in.

Quite true, gonna give my local sorting office a ring. If I wanted to be a postman then I'd apply :p

he posted 1/2 letters to the wrong address with a huge backlog of mail and all you lot are doin is saying he should come back apologise take the letter and deliver it again

you lot are out of your minds man.......get out of the house into the real world

it was a mistake, post it and move on

or make a thread about it, whinge, then go complain to the postamaster and get him sacked

wonder why there is a strike on do you?

I would expect some sarcy remark and then him to do it.
#36
I had a 'sorry you were out' card two weeks ago saying a parcel was too big for my letterbox. I had no idea what it was so I visited the local sorting office 2 days later to collect it only to find they claim to have mislaid it....

Wait x number of days and put in claim he says... except, I don't know what it is so I can't claim for it!

There's probably a backlog because planks like him are dishing mail out to the wrong address and its being sent back to sorting offices. Why should we post the mail ourselves, its not our jobs is it. Would love to be a postie if I could post mail to any house I wanted.
