Royal Mail recorded delivery. How long until it´s "trackable" on their site?

How long does it usually take until I can see on the RM site if someone received an item
sent with recorded delivery (1st class)? Been sent on 24th of september, nothing´s on the site yet though.
I sent 100s of things over the years but never had to check before.

Mate, dont even get me started, its a shambles at the moment, they wont update it even after its arrived. Its a lottery as to when itll turn up because the hard done by postmen are on strike every other week. I had the same problem the other week, went to the post office to ask where my parcel was and got told ''Id be guessing if I gave you an answer''

When it eventually rolled up it still wasnt updated on the website since being accepted at the original post office

No it only shows once it´s been delivered.
Just wondered how long it usually takes them to enter it in the system so
I can see it online.

recorded delivery only gets on the site about 24-48 hours after its been delivered

only special delivery has tracking from point to point

Yeah RM suck lately. Even more than before.
Not to even mention the posties who just throw signed for stuff in the mailbox
without letting people sign for it. Basically ignoring the fact it´s been sent recorded.
I mean WTF!

depends if the item has been delivered, if the item is in a sorting office, waiting for collection, no signature on the item, item is lost in rm's offices

btw there is a strike on so could take a while to get through

Yeah I guess all I can do is wait.
I´ll give it another week and then contact RM

I sent recorded or was it special (?!) delivery once (a REEEEEALLLYYY important Job app) and the site showed it had been delivered but no signature was viewable on the net.. called RM and all they did was offer refund of postage...in postage stamps (lol)

a shambles- but i didnt take it any further cos it turned out someone 'random' from the office's building signed for my papers and then passed the envelope on the appropriate floor..

it got there on time, but could've easily have been misplaced if the signatory hadn't bothered to pass it on etc.

Meaning- RM really need a good talkin' too and may wanna start DOING their job before taking STRIKE actions willy nilly.

Now I'll just wait to be shot down by a RM worker or workers partner who'll happen to browse this site and find this thread!

didn't get the blimmin' job either..

I was a postman back in the 90's, and posted recorded's through the door without getting a signature.

If a customer reported it, the manager would say "don't do it again"... and I wouldn't to that particular address, I also ensured that particular address didn't get any mail that wasn't fully addressed etc.

If it's important, send it Registered/Special delivery.
