Whats going on ???

Three DVDs missing,
Present sent for my birthday via 1st class recorded delivery 5 days ago missing,
Track and trace reads

'Because of very heavy site traffic, this page is currently unavailable.
Please try us again later.'

The place is a joke, I wonder what day next week the latest strike for more money is

No problems here. in fact Royal Mail have seemed to have improved lately
got send a DVD from Play dispatched a few days ago and arrived today. i was expecting it to arrive around next teusday

My friend used to be a manager for them. he said that they posties are moaning as they have to do more work. Shambles. All these agency workers are probably pinching the "nice looking" packages. Always send recorded delivery to cover yourself!

Lol, sold quite a few things on Ebay lately too and all the feedback says super fast delivery etc, and they get sent to anywhere in the country
So i think it's only bad in several isolated areas.

RM operating as normal in my area, anything I've sent SD in the past two weeks arrived the next day and anything I've been expecting has arrived within two days as expected both letters and parcels.

The fact is royal mail has been going down the pan for years it gets worse and worse year after year, its probably the only company id actually like to see privatised.

Have you called Royal Mail about your problem? as if the website is down then you can't fix it that way

If you mail RMSD on saturday no matter what it WILL NOT get there monday.

This is because they don't pick up from post offices on saturdays.

IF you look at your receipt it will say the guarenteed date is tuesday.

This is why I never bother posting RMSD on Saturday, no point.

The new one i always enjoy is 'do you want it guaranteed before 1 o'clock' (for an extortionate fee). Used to be a time when you got your effing post in the morning WITHOUT having to pay a premium !

I was lucky last week. Last Saturday morning I posted an item (1st class recorded) and it arrived on the Bank Hol Monday! That was v quick!!

BTW at my village post office, their pick up on a saturday is 11am, so they do pick up from Post offices on Sat.

It will be privatised, they are speeding it up by striking.

says who? the government have already over ruled the semi privatisation deal they themselves put forward last year. the offer was for a sell off of 30% but then they decided to cave in after huge pressure from the union and the public

what good do you think privatisation will bring to royal mail like? it will drive the prices up by double maybe triple or beyond, as the current stamped mail system operates at a loss and is government funded as a 'public service' , what private company is gonna take a loss making service on and keep it as it is

As above - this is for real. I can say tho I've had 2 parcels go missing - one was spec del and other recorded and it was a nightmare so you have my sympathies.

Had two bank cards go missing and nothing delivered at all over last week. Not receiving any mail for a week just hasn't happened to me before.

The govt had an offer already at their asking price for RM at 30 %, there is no if, buts, maybes, it will end up being privatised whether people like it or not, the public cannot afford the burden of the RM, staff and it's pensions whilst running at as it is. Prices will go up, but they need too.
All the agency workers being brought in to cover because of strikes are just helping to speed up private contracts by the back door.
The RM is as good as privatised when the Tories get in if this govt don't have the balls to do it, the workers need to get real and they are just plain stupid if they can't see it.
It's happening in all aspects of the "public services" NHS/MOD/FIRE/Schools, the RM needs to get real so do the unions or they are going to get a shock soon.

you said it.... HAD an offer, which was withdrawn for 'financial reasons' and then the whole 30% sell off thing was scrapped after union, government and public support for it to be so, i will make a side bet with you for as much as you like that it aint privatised within 5 year , people where saying the same 'imminent privatisation' thing 5 years ago when i was a manager there

you aint gonna be so happy for the prices to go up when a private company decides it needs to charge well over a quid for a 1st class stamp to see any profit, you talk about the 'burden' of royal mail on the country, but forget that a lot of small businesses etc completely rely on royal mails low stamp prices to keep in business etc, dont be so single minded cos they lose a few of the 100million items a day they deliver (most of which i would estimate are stolen by dodgy agency staff or are burnt in post box fires every day)

STILL no deliveries

:-(

Oh by the way regarding collections on a Saturday, I sent two SD parcels on the 5th about 11:00 AM and both arrived this morning so.... all's good here.

There was a strike two or so years ago that stopped mail going to/fro the mainland so I do know what it's like to go without mail for a relatively long time.
#22
im getting letters but every one of my parcels has disappeared ! contacted the customer services via email who 'aim to respond within 5 days'. Ridiculous

Went in yesterday and got fobbed off saying there was a huge back log and they didnt have anything of mine, strangely an hour later all my stuff got delivered.....
