I was just about to sell something on ebay and when i checked the postage price i noticed that special delivery is only offering £50 compensation. Is anyone else annoyed by this?

Says up to £500 on their website
but does say £50 before 9am if you search with roughly £1:50 extra for up to £1000

So normal next day SD for usual £500 cover it is

Be careful sending special delivery, some posties see anything sent recorded/special are worth nicking !!

Be careful when using interparcel they see anything insured as something worth nicking

Noticed this, this morning it is £50 if you send it for 9am delivery but £500 if you send it for next day delivery.

I based that assumption on the Royal Mail Criminal Investigation Team telling me so, after they found a parcel of mine (empty of course) in one of the guys wheelie bins who sorts out the post :x (along with tens of others).

Use a courier company & stay away from Royal Mail

I can't understand why they're doing it. I thought they needed to attract customers but instead they're making some of us go else where.

If you send an item by special delivery it is tracked the whole way and has to be signed by individuals as it goes along so someone accountable, obviously incidents do happen just like with every couriour company but its a very secure process! Recorded is a different matter as it is sent with the normal mail, you just get a signature at the end to say its been delivered.

OP do you need to have it delivered before 9am?

Why not just put it for the before 1pm ? That way you know you are covered. I read on another thread that the t&c's had changed, can anyone tell me what they did actually change apart from this ?
