Royal Wedding paraphernalia: love it or loathe it?

Have you bought any of the stuff related to the upcoming royal wedding. Personally I haven't because I see this wedding as just another couple getting married which happens every single day.
Not that I'm against the royal family I just don't really think about them.

is there anyone you don't hate?

It's a shame they didn't try and do something more contemporary. The design hasn't changed since the 80s.

Friday is great - a day off work! But the actual wedding not something I care about one bit

I don't really hate the members of the Royal Family, as I don't know them very well.

I just dislike the idea of hereditary monarchies.

Hate it. Dont get the day off work

Poor you! I do - yay!

I want a tea towel for the kitsch factor! I'm looking forward to the wedding :)

A lot of hype in my opinion. I'm not anti-monarchy, but I do feel that too much money is wasted on such occasions as this. That said, I hope this royal marriage lasts - time will tell.

I did buy these, mainly cos I collect this stuff and have all the other ducks anyway:

i didnt buy anything myself but wanted to tell that this isn't any of the normal couple's weddings that happens every single day. It is a fairy tale wedding happening between a prince and a middleclass lady.
Although i realise that there is too much hype but why not? not everybody is lucky to have a wedding like that which will be watched by millions worldwide.
I think they make a wonderful couple- weather royal or not. Hope their marriage lasts
Best of luck for their future.

I'm sure I read an article somewhere that the expected average spend on royal wedding memorabilia will be £60 per person!!! Couldn't believe it

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

Love it

God save my aunty Jean, she lives in Glasgow Green, she sells ice cream.
And the ice cream was glorious.
She gave us a pokey hat between four of us
Thank God there wasn't more of us.
God save my aunty Jean. :p

oO

I know their views on the Royals and the wedding, so a fair guess to be honest.

I don't really get your point

It's a couple of people playing dress-up.

Seriously, aren't we a bit old for princes and fairytales?

I bought the £1 phone. Well it's yet to arrive but I fancied something garish to carry around the garden as it'll be easy to find when I drop it in the weeds. I'm working till 9pm on wedding day so I won't be glued to the box. Our village is having a street party and best dressed house competition, several cottages are bedecked with flags already. Went to Tesco this pm and was bemused to see bunting everywhere, specially designed to look really old and threadbare :D

Am I the only one who is looking forward to it....we are having a girlie day at mine to celebrate!
Ladies to arrive at 10.30 (hats are compulsory!) When we will have pimms and chocolate dipped strawberries....then we will watch the wedding...we all love a good wedding...afterwards we will be having a traditional afternoon tea with scones, jam and clotted cream and wait for the 'kiss' on the balcony when we will toast they with champagne and spice cake!!!
Any excuse for a party!

Shame the Royal Family aint using their commission from the rubbish in the stores to help pay for the wedding rather than getting the tax payer to cough up to pay for it.

Only good thing about it is the day off work, shame its going to be difficult to avoid all the media coverage
#38
sick of hearing about it, just get it over with already ffs lol
#39
Hope they have a great life together, seem like 2 honest lovely people.

As far as all the hoo ha, load of rubbish. They're 2 people just like the rest of us. There are far greater love stories that have went untold.
