Anyone here had any luck repairing a RROD'ed 360? If so, which kit did you use and how long did it last?

There's so many different kits on eBay, I'm not sure which one to get. Is it worth spending more for a "proper" one like the Team Xecuter one?

Did the Xclamp fix when mine packed up. That worked for me, it's only a few washers and some thermal paste. Worked for a few months after.

It was then stolen, but they didn't come back to complain, so I assume it still works.

Well I reckon for a few quid for the cheap washer + paste kit, a few months play would be worth it. Will suggest it - cheers

Have you tried going to the the xbox site and seeing if your console is under warranty?

Microsoft give a 3 Year warranty for the RROD fault
i got my xbox back in 2007 and it is still covered until feb 2011
its gone off to Microsoft for repair now

Pretty sure the manufacture date was more than 3 years ago, but I shall check - thanks!

Is the 3 year warranty from the purchase date or the manufacture date?

I've done the fix on the same 360 five times. Works every time. ;)

I think its from purchase date my console was bought at xmas and the warranty runs out after the 3 years
