is there a rule on 1st refusal can people ask via pm if you have items to sell and are you allowed to put 1st refusal or does it have to be said somewhere on the boards

Simpler to ask them to list a wanted thread.

We always prefer deals to be listed in the thread. No point in listing threads if the offer has been agreed away from the thread as that would be a violation of the rules.

I don't see the need to offer 1st refusal as the OP can sell to whoever they wish.

yeh i knew that but it would be a little unfair if it was listed and someone offered full and you say no id rather sell to --- and they offered after, it can get pretty heated at times :giggle:

is it breaking a rule someone asking via pm if you have a certin item and you then you list the item for them to see and saying 1st refusal to them ?
i know its not allowed to sell via pm and all must be done in thread just not sure best way to do it

You could have sold it to them without listing.

you are better off just doing what thesaint recommended.

here is a thread i created a while ago where i was selling a few items and knew that one particular member was interested in a certain game i was selling(odb_69) i put "reserved for odb" under the game for exactly the same reason you have stated, people can get quite annoyed when they make the first offer but the seller picks a different buyer, at the end of the day though both the buyer and seller have to be happy for a transaction to take place so you have every right to refuse to sell to anyone you are unsure of
