Rules regarding retalitory negative feedback?

What is the situation here on HUKD in regards to retaliatory negative feedback?

I bought an item from philuk weeks ago, I dealt in the forum, finished via PM and paid via paypal instantly.
he told me the item was sent, two weeks later I still had nothing.
he repeatedly told me he would forward me the tracking info and that it had been sent via a trackable posting method...I never got the tracking number.
I finally got a refund out of him and he was banned from the site for breaking the rules.
in his refund message he was verbally abusive to me.

I left negative feedback as I felt it was necessary to warn others.
he as you can see has left negative for me, but even in his feedback it's clear its retaliatory and not representative of the transaction.

I followed the rules, I paid instantly, I was pleasant, I waited over 2 weeks....

You should have asked this question before you left negative feedback.
You received a full refund, but felt the need to warn us of what exactly?

Also, you didn't even leave feedback for the correct thread.

Why? I should hold off leaving negative feedback for a negative experience in case someone is childish enough to leave retaliatory feedback?
I received a refund after constantly trying to get in contact and getting nowhere with the guy, I was warning against anyone else having to mess about with such a waster.
I didn't leave feedback for the right thread as the thread I dealt in didn't appear on the list for feedback for some reason

I don't mind it going nowhere it was a simple question but thanks for you..as usual...useless input

firstly good on you for leaving the feedback you felt just, without the fear of neg in retaliation, it is the same as ebay, you leave neg they leave neg back, nothing you can do really, if i ever come across a neg feedback i ususlaly have a look at all feedbacks left for both, on here you also get to look through each members other posts so that is a great help to those who are interested, for those that dont care maybe its worth losing the deal ;-)

As I said in the other thread, I think you were harsh to leave the neg - I notice how you waited until you were given a FULL REFUND before doing so.

According to PhilUK in the thread, it was ONE week since you paid to getting the refund - is this an unreasonable time to wait to see if Royal Mail do deliver?

Why would it "pee off" another HUDK'er? The guy giving the retailatory feedback has been banned (if you bothered to read the OP.

The question being raised he is in regards retaliatory feedback and why isn't anything done about unwarrented negatives. But you knew that.

Yes, And i have made my point and my daugher lost the slip. Anyways how does that matter the buyer has not lost out. I have lost out on £30 not him.

I could understand his angry if I didnt refund his £30 but as soon as he wanted it back I did it right away.

So did you send the goods or didnt you? Losing a slip doesnt normally mean the goods are also lost! Seems a little too much of a coincidence!

The goods was sent. Who knows if he got them or not. If hes willing to tell a load of rubbish about taking 2 weeks and abusive then maybe he got it too! but then im not going to start calling him a theif!

The topic is really useless i think. it wont solve anything. Unless he can prove that i was absuive and took 2 weeks

Why are you so convinced the seller is the liar here? He has showed proof that he gave a refund within a week, and yet the buyer was saying it was 2 weeks.... seems like so far, the buyer is telling porkies...

How do we know the buyer didn't see that the item wasn't sent recorded, or find out that the proof was lost, and then it was delivered in the meantime and he's now got a refund AND the joypad? We don't...

The seller gave a refund within 1 week, and kept in touch. What else should he have done?? Is that deserved of a negative?

The seller is definately not telling the whole truth somewhere, in the first above post he personally claims to have sent the item, in the later post claiming it was his 9 year-old daughter who sent it...

He did have a few to post - could he have possibly been mistaken?! (Gasp!)

At the end of the day, the buyer had a full refund within 7 days, and I can see two posts in the original thread, where the seller asks if they would just wait until the next week and if it hadn't arrived would give a refund.

I can't believe you all seem to think that receiving a Negative for giving a full refund and keeping in touch with the buyer throughout 1 week is warranted...

The item was sent personally but then by someone else. Sent recorded, but not received. Then certificate lost?

Of course it could be down to confusion and completely genuine.

As for the 2 weeks bit, yup - he has exagerated. But tell me this. Why would anyone refund after one week when they HAD sent out the goods a few days before and be out of pocket to a buyer who will get these goods and a refund?

I sent 200 items a week. these was left over from old stock. from dec/jan!

I personal sent it means i personaled packed it. I work in the day and while i print my postage recorded items have to be giving to the post office to stamp..

Ill tell you what.. I know the lady in the postoffice and she well knows my daughter.

Phone 023 92550218 and ask for Cheque Farm Postoffice mon-fri and ask if my daughter posts the LEWIS post for him and she will tell you.

All these proof and where i gave the buyer a FULL refund and that. im sorry but you taken this way to far lol!

I refund as i can make a claim. my daugher lost the card so i cant. im not gonna lose sleep over £30 lol but im not going to agree to remove any feedback!

I wouldnt have lost my proof of postage - and would make the buyer wait until the post office confirms they have either lost it - or item signed for. If that is unreasonable, then too bad. I wouldnt expect the buyer to wait until a refund paid by the post office, but I would expect them to wait for an answer as to where this package went.

How is that abusive? Firstly you accuse the seller of getting you banned from the site - don't see how this applies? You got yourself suspended for not following the rules.

"Why didnt you just shutup and keep it to pm i sent the bloody item" The buyer has every right to ask questions in the thread - this is where relevant questions should be raised as you are well aware. If you honestly can't see why this is rude and abusive then you have a very weak grasp of the english language.

At the end of the day you have told mistruths about sending the item (above) and sent a needlessly rude message and there is little evidence of you keeping the buyer well informed (at what point did you inform them you were refunding? It seems you asked them to wait until Monday 7th before taking the matter any further...). If I had received that message in the paypal refund I also would have left a negative feedback - it was totally uncalled for.

I'd much prefered a mod to comment rather than sweep it away elsewhere! The original question was regarding retaliatory feedback and HUKD mod input is very much needed for that - regardless of the content that unfolded in the thread on this particular transaction.

I imported 1000 of these units in nov/dec and these i had left over from old stock and i wanted shot of them and posted them on here so that someone else would get a good deal :)

I cba to relist them on ebay and stuck them on for £30 each, i had 4 left and a freind had a few more. even tho they are old stock to me they are not even in the uk now.

It was moved to feeback as the thread has been completely derailed with personal comments. If someone wishes to start a thread in feedback regarding the feedback system as a whole, then feel free, but it cannot be about individual cases like this, or the same thing will happen again.
