Depends on what laptop you have and what tv you have,Some laptops have a Svideo out which can be connected to most tvs and other laptops have a VGA out which can be connected to a HDtv which has a Vga in,

one of these will do you, its a 15 pin to scart, your laptop should have a 15 connection

That's it working. You now have to either set the TV as the primary monitor (control panel > display properties > settings), or drag a window over to the TV. By default, Windows uses the second attached monitor or TV to extend the desktop rather than duplicating or replacing it.

I think you need your laptop to have 'TV out' specification, otherwise nothing will come up on the telly. Can anyone else cofirm this?
