Absolutely scandalous. Collusion and price fixing come to mind. When challenged by the the media, they are let off the hook rolling out the same old rhetoric. Was informed by a distributor that container ships often lie offshore when demand is high and wait for higher prices. I could just spit !!!!!

my sympathy. I ordered oil at 47p on 19th November, well before snow and crisis price rise, they never delivered until 8th December after me phoning everyday and being told it would be tomorrow, then the snow came, sat here for a week freezing to death as was worried about our boiler. The guy that installed it said NEVER run out of oil or it will go wrong and have to be recommissioned at vast expense. I ran it for 10minutes every two hours to keep the pipes unfrozen.
Ordered a calor gas fire and bought loads of calor gas, it didn't get here because of the first lot of snow, but did on the 6th so now I have a back up, useful for when there's a power cut too.

The oil company never quoted me a different price, and no invoice received yet either, one more thing to worry about :(

I have put a few bricks under one side of the tank. Just enough for a hot shower in the morning before work. Hang out !!!
