If we get it I can't wait to see what the logo would be like after the 2012 olympic one.
#3
Of course he's confident, they've paid the biggest bribes...........

Prob cancelled his flight after watching panorama last night.

lol at Putin cancelling flight, just read that back!

Not like he needs to book a ticket or anything.
#6
is it today they announce it?

I blame the bankers..... oh.... wrong thread! X)

In all honesty, if we fail this time, I hope they just dont bother in the future. It seems as pointless as entering the Eurovision song contest and just as corrupt. Looking at what FIFA expects the goverment to sign up to in respect of taxes and visas, I think we should have told them to **** off in the first place. (But I'm guessing our own FA wanted to get a good greasing first!)

There's no reason why we haven't won the bid clearly the best country in the world to host, still leading the world with the best league in the world.

You are missing one important ingredient. Some countries are more corrupt, which is far more important for FIFA in order to feather its pockets.

No that was his (former) wife.

They should expand the world cup in terms of matches played and making it a global event each time with matches played at venues around the world.

A leaked executive summary of the document graded the three main 2018 contenders - Russia, England as well as Spain and Portugal as low risk.
My maths is only CSE but

I would think spain and portugal are the front runners-the russians are never gonna win this-there will be nowhere for fifa to hide if they do tbh. England has the best bid, fifa MIGHT just get away with claiming spain and portugal are the favoured bid-but russia? no chance!

lol Spain and Portugal is a joint bid :p

I'd prefer Spain & Portugal rather than the Russians.

yep-no offence to England-I would love you guys to win,but as a place to go in the summer for the world cup,I would prefer spain and portugal-it may be slightly warmer!

I think England deserves to stage it and obviously who i want to get it but as you say would be lovely in Spain/Portugal.

Plus my Mum has a place out there so would be nice to go over even if tickets aren't an option.

this is my thinking too m8-my brother has a house in portugal so I would go there for the atmosphere-wouldnt really matter what group I was closest to-just go and see some good games, unless Scotland qualify of course,in which case I would go wherever they are.

I loved my trip to euro 96,and have fond memories of it,but somehow a bed and breakfast in birmingham doesnt have the same appeal as a trip abroad(no offence to anyone from bham btw-you know what I mean)
#25
Lol: That would explain it. It just looks funny when you don't know that.

I wish i was a bit older in 96. I'm only 5 mins from Wembley but was only 9 or 10 so just watched at home. 2018 would be quality for me.

96 was brilliant m8-my oldest son (12 at the time) and me stayed in birmingham cos 2 of our games were at villa park-this was in an extremely ropey bed and breakfast, long before travelodges and internet bargains/tripadvisor etc,but the atmosphere was pure electricity-can still remember the goal against switzerland when we so nearly got through,if only England hadnt lost that goal to holland when you thrashed them the same night,we would have gone on in the tournament.

Our oldest still talks about it as the greatest trip he ever had,and he has been to australia, america and china-lol-and he still considers his trip with dad to a major championships in birmingham his best ever! Birmingham was brilliant btw-people soo friendly(even to the scots)-just wish I had picked a better place to stay-its far easier to do that now of course.

Is going to be awesome. Basically it's a caricature of David Beckham wearing a most wonderful gold sequined jacket and a pair of shorts emblazoned with the English flag.
