Hi all,

Travelling with Ryanair on wednesday to Dublin.

I selected no luggage to keep flights as cheap as! Anyway, my question is, my and my boyfriend will each be carrying an A4 sized bag each.

My query is, ill probably do a bit of shopping in Dublin - will i be ok to take all this back on the plane? I doubt ill buy much - maybe 2 or 3 carrier bags - will this be ok?

Thanks

you are only allowed one bag each josh :)

try to pack it all well, into one each

a rucksack type is fine, when we went some even had the larger ones

once passed through security it dont really matter

you can check on ryanair's website the maximum size of hand luggage they allow

Oh right.

Thanks for the replys, will have to keep purchases to a minimum, and get the little one a bag too i think, is he allowed to take a bag?

I think all ill probably buy is clothes anyway, and im sure the ryanair website only give kg's as sizes, i have no idea how much clothes weigh!

excellent idea! I've never understood why people don't do that! (or do they?) I always take clothes in my hand luggage too! (A holiday once our bags didn't get to us for 3 days!!)

ok idea depending on the weather, esp for a 3 year old, he may not want to spend hours with multiple layers of clothes on :)

No as long as the check in staff dont see then it dont matter. The only ones who will say anything is check-in staff so just hide it from them. I've done this before. They dont say anything because if you couldnt take any shopping bags on the plane then they wouldnt have shops in the airport???

Shopping airside, you can take as many bags on the plane as you want.

I wouldn't advise hiding them at all - security can confiscate them if the airline has a one cabin bag per passenger rule as they can check any part of the bag(s) you are carrying. I've seen people try to do that at stansted and they just lose them.

Well i live 5 mins from stansted. i use to work in the airport and fly from there frequently and have never seen anyone confiscate anything. I have gone from stansted with 3 hand luggage bags and carrier bags from shops and never happened to me and never seen this happened to anyone else. The security dont care as long as theres nothing against rules in there. My best friends mum works on the security gates and says they dont care. Its the airline that say that but nothing to do with security. If security checked every airlines hand luggage restrictions and checked every person that went through no one would ever catch their planes because of delays.

u can take quite a big bag for arry on. and max load in 10kg! thats a heck of a lot! u can easily take a trolley ... check the dimensions.. ull be surprised at how big a bag u can take. only thing rmbr to pack ur liquids in thsoe medium soze food bags and no liquids over 100ml...that also means bottle canrt be bogger than 100ml and also that all liquids must fit into one bag per passenger.

have fun in dublin.... once u get there how o u plan tp get to city...wud lve to go there but will be with kids so dont wana long bus ride/taxi ride...wanan know how far city is... thanks
