in before 3 people come in and compare ryanair to Santa and Jesus

chargeback your credit card, thats the best weapon, that costs them more than just the initial amount

cite a site glitch and zero customer support when you to the chargeback

phone up your credit card company, and say you want to do a chargeback
[mod]#4
Why not telephone them back now and explain the circumstances and situation.

You probably already know this but you ought to have telephoned them when your connection went down to check that they had your reservation.

Surely common sense will prevail and they will realise you have booked exactly the same tickets under the very same names and refund the amount to you.

Are you referring to ryanair here without being sarcastic?:w00t:

Seems when these companies systems go down, at the time they admit its their fault and they have problems, then they always back-track and blame you after... because its you who booked the item twice and they can't be held responsible!

Had the same problem with IWOOT, I ended up with two identical orders, they would refund my money if I returned the item, but the return postage was more than the item cost!

In the end I never used them again, they also lost business from people I told about my negative experience!

Wait until tomorrow and try them again. This is what I would do and I am offering you my ideas.

What is the full number? I will try and find an alternative.

If they're scum, and you know they are (by saying again) then it begs the question, why the hell are you using them?
#18
You can phone the Irish number (where they are based) on +35312480856 How the costs compare to the 0871 number i don't know, check your call costs

+1

Vote with your feet in future, don't just complain if they keep making mistakes.

email them?

Have a look at contact details here: http://www.ryanaircampaign.org/contact.html lol, they call it ruinair.

there customer services email system is for changing bookings which cost at least 25 pounds on top sometimes 100 pounds and doesnt have a link or way to email them about a double booking
#22
It says on the link: We've had another report full of praise for the help given after calling the Bournemouth number above, and also a report of a number in Stansted, which is 01279 664185/6. More recently, we've had another report that call to 01279 664185 got through to someone who was "marvellous".

Worth a try tomorrow morning or emailing anyway, no harm in sending an email off and seeing what they say.

Edit: Did you have a look at the link? It's not the normal Ryanair contact details, it's a compilation of details that disgruntled customers have put together and had success with - have a look.

True. Pay peanuts, get monkeys.

cant see what they have done wrong at all.

how can it be their fault you have a dodgy connection and are really impatient?

1. get a better internet connection

2. get a better phone

3. Dont shout at people down the phone

4. dont be so impatient. 6 hours for a confirmation email is hardly a long time lol

the reason i shouted down the phone was because when i talked normally they claimed they couldnt hear me and hung up but i still got charge for the call

how is it fraud? they wont respond on the phone, their site glitch caused a purchase that wasnt supposed to happen, OP gets money back, company gets the flight back

no fraud at all, nothing is stolen, nothing wrong with my advice, at least i gave some

it wasnt a site glitch, it was the OPs internet connection and impatience (5 hours waited before re-booking isnt ryanairs fault). Chargebacks can only be for fraud which this isnt so you are advising op to commit fraud!

dont give advice if you dont know what you are talking about
#29
Chargebacks are for more than just fraud.

I doubt the bank would entertain this but I'd say it's worth a try.

fair enough but they arent to be used for someone ordering two lots of plane tickets by their own mistake / impatience.

Maybe, just maybe their is a fault with your phone line, hence no internet, people can not hear you on the line.
