A while back there was a promotion for Ryanair flights and stuff going for 0.02p etc. I got some tickets booked for 18 June. Just wanted to know if anyone here had actually booked some tickets through that promotion and whether they've been on the flight and back, if you know what i mean.

You will be OK as long as you follow the Ryanair rules to the letter, especially the baggage rules.;-)

infact Never travelled with ryanair before

what if I decide me and the girlfriend want to take luggage after all, can we simply pay the extra £10?

You'll be fine sweet - last time ryanair offered these sorts of prices (that alleged glitch on their system) when they were offering penny flights. Turned up at Birmingham, checked in (2nd or 3rd), no questions asked.

highwayman82:-
Never taken the priority boarding, no point i my opinion. Get through security ASAP after checking in, and find some seats in the general ryanair area. If you don't know where it is, see if there are any earlier ryanair flights going out before, take a look at the gate numbers. As soon as the boarding gate number is displayed on the screens, walk there and sit down. At most ryanair airports, there are two queues: "Priority Boarding & Web Check 'N Go" & The queue for all the rest. If there are any seats by the gate, sit in them. When the flight is called, you'll be virtually at the front of the queue, thus the best choice of seats.

Anyone Flying With FR Soon: Please don't buy the food uness you have to, £3.50 for a hotdog gives you some idea of the prices. Buy food in the terminal (Boots, etc.) before if you can....

Yes you will lou - ryanair operate Boeing 737-800 series aircraft - 3 abreast seating on either side - and rather generous legroom compared to charter flights (unless you're tall)

Oh, and I hope you like yellow....

It certainly shocks people when they turn right on entering the aircraft

I noticed that last week when I flew to latvia, bloody yellow.

Anyway, the reason I mention priority boarding is because as so many people carry on luggage/bags if you don't get on handy then you end up with your bag halfway down the plane. So many people actually use priority boarding now that if you don't you end up as pretty much the last people on the plane. I have a dodgy knee so need an aisle, even though the legroom isn't that bad.

Unless you get on at the rear in which case turning right would hurt you.

What? I flew To and from Dublin last week from Stansted last week with FR - one of the busiest routes for them. On the outbound, the first flight of the day, full of business people, there were 15 people using the priority boarding. On the inbound - there were 9.

A 737 has near 185 capacity - so surely you can't be last? I'm not really sure that i've EVER seen more than 25 in the priority queue. Which route was "you end up as pretty much the last people on the plane" on?
#19
must remember to check the weights of both luggage and carry on then

They never check the carry on lou - every time i've flown with them, they just say "Can i see you're hand luggage please?" They look at it, say it's an OK size - and let you keep it. You could put 10KG in there, and they wouldn't notice...

Well, from my experiences anyway

There are lots of little shops around... There's a little café under the train bridge near conolly station that does a warm scone and jam with tea for 1euro 50...

Didn't see many toy shops around the city centre - but i'm sure there are somewhere  There is a toymaster, but very expensive i'll warn you ;-)

It's just snacks i'm afraid - sandwiches, paninis, hotdogs, crisps, chocolate etc.

"Ryanair carry a delicious range of snacks on board along with a choice of hot or cold beverages along with a full range of beers, wines and spirits on board all of our flights which are all available for purchase from our on-board bar and detailed in our In-flight magazine."

Good Idea :)

If (like me) you are tall and get one of the new ryanair jets (like the picture - nice and yellow!) they have rubbish leg room when all the seats are packed.
I'd advise either:
Priority boarding (and nab the exit seats)
Take soemthing on like a coat that can be wedged in front of your knees.

Having said that - they are dirt cheap and i guess if i paid another £100 for the flight thats when i would expect to be comfortable!
#36
Nearly All of the ryanair 737 aircraft have been refurbished to the new standard - most have no seat back pockets/yellow seat backs/yet retain window blinds. The only difference is external - some have the old livery - so don't rely on that as a sign of a plane with bigger legroom...

Hiya Shazzer, im flying to Bergamo too in early July, but havent sorted accommodation yet (!) Are you staying in Bergamo or Milan itself. What did you decide was best? Oh yeah, and do you know what transport to Milan is like from Bergamo, and how long does it take to get there? Im only staying 1 night.
Thanks in advance :)
Jase.

Which night are you hoping to stay Jase? I'll have a look for you :)

Latvia to Liverpool. It was pretty much the same on the outbound flight.
