We have seen recently how much we rely on the bravery and hard work of all of the emergency services, but these people do it day in day out while we all just get on with our lives. Seen it first hand the worry of a loved one go out to and not come back and it really is terrifying. So thank you to all of our emergency services, our police and fire services, our nurses and doctors, our armed services and those others keeping us safe. I thank every one of you.

ps. Please don't make this political, we have had enough of that lately.

yes worth every penny of the 1% yearly increase this and the last goverment allows
#3
Start a kickstarter to buy em all a pint tho I'm not sure how it would be achievable

we really do need more of these fantastic people. the pressure they are under at times can be unimaginable. a bigger team or squad to deal with situations will surely help, and now with all the recent events its something the public should demand.

They do a great job its just a pity the electorate keep voting in the politicians that keep making the job harder to do?
We call them heroes then vote for both party s that strangle the emergency services. Messed up country.

Yeah everybody loves them in a crisis but as soon as they go on strike what happens to the love then?

And the emergency services protecting the workers/investigators at the Council Borough from the protesting 'I'll destroy property and others livelihoods before pleading for help and peace' savages.

... never heard anyone call a policeman a hero as he hands them a speeding fine either!! :)

Why was the post deleted that i assume was from a fireman? It sounded like he\she was as the wording was about changes and cuts to his\her pay\conditions\pensions etc.

Not very supportive of our emergency services if you delete their complaints about treatment, thank yous are pretty hollow if your just going stick your head in the sand when one of them raises concerns.

The poster may well have deleted their own post realising it took the thread off-topic. If you want to have another tedious rant about blah blah cuts, blah blah government start your own thread. That' s not what the OP started this thread for.

What is your point about no politics? We are very capable to make our own choice , to do our own apolitical personal expression of thanks to the public servants, which I do, and others do, without your political canvassing here.
If you loved them, buy them chocolates, give them £20 gift voucher after help. No point here to make your empty words as nice words don't count for much to their living standards. Do you own personal action, buy a big tin of biscuits, when they campaign for better condition, stand by in the streets with them.

There are times when we need to step back from politics, and as there is so much political bias on threads I wanted a thread just to say thank you. Reality is we have had underfunding of all services, by all parties of all persuasions so let's not get political just thank them.

You didn't provide information contact details to people here to thank public service folks apolitically and moreover you as a lead poster didn't say what you personally did to thank them. Is it a thank you card, a box of chocolates, a M&S voucher etc..

You are being pedantic, you really are, sometimes words are enough, especially on a forum. Not everything has to be about cash, presents or tokens, thats all a new thing, a thank you is often a nice thing to say.

"Reality is we have had underfunding of all services" is a political statement.

Yes it is but bit was to a question raise as to why not mention politics, also added was al, political parties had underfunded as that's a reality but it's not a let's open it up to a political discussion as I said there is plenty of that happening elsewhere. But as it's an open forum anything goes.
