Well, as some of you may have known, my OH & I have decided to rehome some ex-battery hens to give them a good chance of life after doing their shift at the farms.

We are getting 8 next week, and for the past 6 weeks or so, my Dad & I have been making their headquarters!

See the progress below :o)

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e90/birdyboyuk/Chicken%20House/18022008370.jpg Starting to take shape! I had acquired a 6x4 shed from Freecycle, so that enabled me to use the lean to I had for the chooks! (chooks = hens)

Very good workmanship. Those things can be really hard to build. :-(

Making use of an existing wall/fence is a great time saver.

Your hen house is very good. And a very worthwhile cause too. My auntie used to keep chickens and i remeber collecting the egs when i was small! Now that was a fresh breakfast!!

watch out for Mr Fox, my uncle had the same and Mr Fox delighted in getting in , ripping them all up and leaving them uneaten. Well done with the slabs, that should stop him digging under the wire
