Fergie has spent sensibly this summer mainly because prices have become so over inflated with the likes of Milner costing 30m the market is a joke at the moment to be honest, only clubs like city and madrid can afford to buy players at this price.

I wouldn't say Madrid can afford them, but history and their fans dictate it...wasn't so long ago the same was said of chelsea

Yeah that is true, there is alot of pressure there, but then the same can be said about most english clubs, I think we need to start looking for the younger stars and bring them through the squads because clubs will be priced out of the market soon enough

Fergie's spot on, United don't need any players, We've got young players coming through, In fact probably too many..!! United won the reserve league last season.

As soon as you mention United a players value shoots through the roof, Fergie's right theirs no real value.

Yes Berbatov cost £30 odd million and we sold Ronaldo for a stupid amount. Perhaps that re-emphasizes the fact.

Perhaps it's a good thing, Plus the cap on Foreign players is clearly a good thing for English football.

Hopefully one day they make it so you've got to be English to play for an English club, That would benefit England, However if that was bought in now it'd be catastrophic. Got to bring something like this in the next 10-20 years gradually, perhaps they could restrict the amount of foreign players each year.

But wouldn't that hamper english clubs' chances in the european competitions - unless other countries brought in the same rules

Most City fans say that their only getting the kind of money that United have had for decades but in truth United's money was always mainly self generated. We could never compete with the Real Madrid's of this world for the top world class players. There's been a few large purchases over the years but on the whole United have concentrated on developing youth talent. You can't buy a happy dressing room and team spirit, look at Greece in Euro's to see what team spirit can do. I have a good feeling about United this year, Fergie is putting faith in his young team (with a very experienced back bone of players). Good on Fergie.

Of coarse yes it would, Good point and it would need implementing in all the leagues, Hence one of the reasons it wouldn't work, However It's a shame.
