officer I swear I bought the laptop... look here's my receipt lol

If you bought it using a credit card or debit card... take your statement along with you, should do the trick if you lost the receipt and not just aquired the laptop lol

this is not a good idea, that receipt will be copied and added to the system as belonging to the seriel number on your machine, so if the other person has problems with theirs and it needs to go to medion it will be picked up, also this is sounding dodgier by the day

From the other thread "they say the warranty is void as I bought it from a unofficial retailer"

yes i know, he purchased it a month ago, and rather than deal with the shop they are asking on here for a receipt that may invalidate someone elses warranty :?

From the other thread "they say the warranty is void as I bought it from a unofficial retailer" which to me says it was acquired through unofficial means

then i suggest you go to trading standards with this, i have said this may invalidate some elses warranty

as for strike, if you insist on trying to have a pop at me,at least try to be more subtle so as not to be so obvious

I want you to know

as said be very careful what you are doing, i would personally be getting some advice from trading standards, and also concerned to how a company has sold you a laptop that was only available elsewhere, as i said this sounds dodgey to me to where it came from

You should be ok then?

However, i did notice someone selling a Median receipt on fleabay the other day. It might be still there. Worth a look. I think the auction seller ID was

"t u n - b m u n"

Using someone else's receipt would be OK, but making your own receipt is a big no-no.

Sassie, the receipt is not going to be tied to the serial number of the machine. All the receipt is wanted for is proof of purchase.

Normally i would agree, but as the op has told medion this was not purchased voa sainsburys but from another shop and they do not have a reciept i would imagine this has raised suspicion, and for this reason it may be copied and kept attached to the information on this laptop

I see what you are saying, but if the original owner then needs to send their laptop back, are they going to check every return against this one receipt to see if it matches? I don't think so.

on reading the ops other thread yesterday and now reading this it sounds very sus to where this laptop came from, to how the shop came by it, a brand new lappy purchased from sainsburies to sell on in a shop that wont help the op out, very sus, now if medion for one minute feel sus then yes maybe they will, the op doesnt seem to bothered that the shop seem unwilling to help, and on that note perhaps its best i but out before i get accused of victimisation
#31
Your contact is with the shop, not the manufacturer and it's down to them to fix it.

If trading standards can't help and the trader still refuses, take 'em to the small claims court.
#32
medion only offer 28days via sainsbury any way so it wont help
