Sainsbury's have an "instant win" gamecard in all their stores. The rules state "Players must purchase a £1 ticket for the Lotto game and a £1.50 ticket for the EuroMilions game in one transaction". However, in the "small print", the leaflet also states "No purchase necessary".
I asked for a free card, and was refused. I spoke to a manager, who told me the "No purchase necessary" meant no purchase of groceries! I laughed, but he wasn't joking.
I have obtained similar cards without purchase before, from other retailers. Does anyone know the law on this? Called my local Trading Standards, who were not helpful!
