Then I go to Curry's who do a price match +10%
Ok so then I paid £17.99..... Got that so far?

Then I go round the corner to CEX (Entertainment Exchange) and sell it for £25.00 cash (£30.00 credit)

so in essence I made £7 for virtually nothing. Good or what??

agreed

do it as many times as you can!

I suppose other game stores will offer a cash price higher than £17.99 I haven't checked. It is a fairly new game so it is very possible to make a quick profit.

yeah i was just thinking that, don't game or gamestop or something do a pricematch on CEX trade-ins + £1?

I do this thing all the time, especially when Comet have their game reduction prices, find the ones that have the most CEX trade ins then get Gamestation to honour it, makes for cheap Xbox Live 12 month subs etc.

Yeah, Gamestation was the one, like "cicobuff" just said

Seems silly agreed but say you did it twice...about 10 mins work...thats £14

Thats better than what most people are on per hour so really it is worth it if you think about it, but I see what your saying totally

The only thing is that this will only last a day or so until CEX realise whats going on and adjust their prices accordingly. Buy at the wrong time and you could lose out.....

None taken, but come to think of it....................
It might be, but for one who doesn't have a job (have applied for literally 100ish BTW with only 1 interview (Failed) this is just a way of passing the time.

Alan Sugar & Richard Branson had to start somewhere.

I wish you well.

And there are far more pointless tasks you could be doing whilst waiting for your next unemployment benefit payment.

At least you are outside & getting exercise.

Hope you find something more suitable soon though. It is not a business model you can keep going for long.

On my Argos receipt from today is the text

"* EXEMPT FROM 30 DAY GUARANTEE"

Granted this was the first time it was mentioned throughout the whole transaction, and I'm sure you could argue consumer statutory rights along the way; it just all depends how long a duration elapses between purchase & return, and/or whether the Argos staff recognise you as somebody who has already bought 18 of the same title already.

"Oh sorry, I mis-counted... I only have 17 friends... can I swap this for another title?" :)

True... best to ask in advance though.

"I'm not sure if this is the right game... can I bring it back for an exchange or refund if it is not, and it is still sealed?"

(If you don't get a 100% commitment to that, don't buy).

Saying that... one of my kids wanted an Xbox 360 for Christmas.

I bought two titles in the recent Currys "2 for £30" sale & then said offspring changed his mind.

I took both back (sealed) about 3 weeks later & swapped them for PS3 titles.

Depends on your definition of sad, if saving some cash isn't your thing, then so be it, but this method has worked to my own advantage on several occassions.

For example :

Whilst the risk is always there that obviously places like CEX can drop the trade in prices (just be quick and do things on day of purchase if you can), last month I bought from Comet in there clearance 2 x Kung Fu Panda on the 360 @ £10 each and 2 x Kung Fu Panda on the DS for £5 each, a total outlay of £30

CEX trade ins were £20 each for it on the 360 and £15 each on the DS, price beating at Gamestation gave me store credit of £63.

So for £30 outlay I had a 12 months Xbox Live Sub and £33 store credit which I put towards buying Guitar Hero World Tour Bundle.

To me that isnt sad, its being smart and savvy.

Agreed Cico.

At the end of the day I find it incredulous ( Stones word of the day) that people get angry at making money or creating deals through use of deals like this,.while visiting a site which details the savings in the first place.

I mean if you are here reading trying to find a bargain then complain when someone gets a better deal by using his head, are you waiting here specifically to pick a fight?
