If you go into a shop, or work in a shop, who would you perceive to be the better worker/have the best job - the sales floor staff (fillers) or the checkout staff?

Yes, that's what I thought too but I read in a newspaper recently that cashiers are more highly regarded.

checkouts have more responsability handling the cash and also have to take all the **** off customers,( who by the time they get to the checkouts without half there shopping because shopfloor staff havent filled up) are well and truly ****off, lol:whistling:

If your happy in what you do then what's the argument?

fillers without a doubt. In my younger years I worked in Tesco, I went back a couple of years later and by then they insisted everyone was till trained, I jacked instantly

isnt the fillers fault that stuff isnt on the shelf (most times)

if you see the stock control in some places you would see why.

shopfloor has diff levels of hardness dependent on where you work. For instance working in fruit n veg is the hardest imo compared to working in GM where they do nothing as nightshift filles up the microwaves etc.

as for checkout cashiers taking the abuse.....ill crack the jokes.

An operator in the store where i work was threated that they would get a gun and shoot her just because she told a customer that the till they were using was for handbaskets only:w00t:
