weather will be better than here for sure :)
not a lot will be open but there's always port aventura
prices in spain as a whole are a lot higher than they used to be, about on a par with here but at this time of year they'll probably be lower

Hi ... yes we visited Salou a couple of years ago in September (we were staying at the next resort along La Pineda) it was only for a day so can't tell you too much, to be honest we found it quite expensive compared to where we were staying about 3 miles away. Probably not so bad out of season ... The weather was lovely in Sept but as for Jan I have no idea, have a look at the average weather temps, search Google lots of them. It is a lovely place lots of beach & flowers/trees very scenic.. tons of shops, restaurants & cafes. There is a beautiful multi coloured fountain on the front (don't know if it will be operating in Jan) If you can try & visit Barcelona (Costa Brava) (about 1 hr on the bus) & get a full day there as it is a fantastic place to visit, lots to see & do. Hope you have a fab time :)

I wouldn't bet on that, the weather can be very cold in Spain in January.

Solou's very nice, Cap Solou is very quite though, Beach is very clean and well cared for, Take a stroll to the Marina, Apparently Mr Beckham has a boat docked there.

Probably be a bit cold in January, Usually a couple of degrees hotter than here.

Get yourself to Barcelona, Very good place for shopping.

salou will be very cold in january so take jumpers and jackets. Average is about 8-10 degrees centigrade.

its very built up in a benidorm style but ok for a few days. Barca is great and you could easily pass 3-5 days there without getting bored. Train system is great as is the metro. very expensive eating out though

Thanks everyone. Am only going for 2 nights but a shopping trip to Barcelona is definitely in order. Been on the Port Aventura website, it looks ace but is sadly closed when I go! Just hope it doesn't rain!

ive been there with family a couple of time. cap salu is a bit out of the way. salu is much nicer. if youre booking trips, do these with the guides in the town, they are much cheaper. i think they were called pama or something like that. nice place to go. we usually go in september. so not sure what weather will be like. food is good in hotels. buffet style.
