samsung 32" tv screen broke

I accidently broke the screen on my 32" HD sammy today =[ it was a really freak accident with the remote falling out of my hand, bouncing off the floor and hitting the tv. its got a pretty big patch thats all pixelated now. Does the samsung warranty cover this kinda thing? or my 5 year john lewis garauntee?

Dam you rubber floors. It has to be bubbles' fault not yours.

I would say the John Lewis would be your best bet but still read up before you try to claim.

yeh it was really strange how it happened. there is no crack or even a mark on the screen from the impact it was that light. its just got a big patch/blob thats all pixelated in the screen when its turned on.

Contents insurance is the only way to go. (I think!) I'd be pretty stunned if a retailer would replace it as you clearly broke it yourself, it's not actually a faulty set.

I'm not sure what you want me to get a grip on... you broke it, but you're trying to lie your way out of it costing you anything. Get contents insurance, that's what it's for.

F**k the honesty claim it against the warranty if they replace then it's all good. Nobody is honest in todays world.

Definitely try and get it repaired under warranty, Just ignore the sanctimonious twonks...they'd do exactly the same, but on the net it's a good way of appearing better than everybody else.

That's an undisputable fact and it is the reason you are returning it.

How it happened is another story and, if they ask "how did it happen?", then you'd be obliged to tell them.

got someone coming monday to have a look and hopefully cart it off for repair. thanks guys. ill have a geez at some replacement tvs now just incase

I have to say that dealing with corporate bodies and individuals is very different.

Any company with have a wall of lawyers finding any possible way to twist all kinds of laws in the search for profits. They would no doubt argue in your case that there is no evidence to prove causality in relation to your remote controls proximity to the screen and it's subsequent failure. If they were pushed on the matter and lost the first argument in court they would probably have a fall back argument that suggested that the remote had a design fault and in fact you should be compensated for the possible danger you were put in by it's none standard behaviour. Remember the tobacco industry and how "honest" have been over the years.

When dealing with a real person you should in my opinion use a completely different set of moral judgments and own up.
