No BR player is region free.
Some can be made DVD region free with either a code or a firmware flash. None can be user hacked to the BR region free.
The only option for BR is a chip mod and they are very expensive (unless you are an expert at soldering on to surface mount components).

I've found it on Avsforums...
It seems to be saying that you have to manually change the region for each disc? Is that right ?

for the one i have. kind of, you only have to change the region when you come across a region locked bluray disc. you keep it at what it's set at for as long as you need to. i rarely change it and it only take a few seconds to do so.

Its truly amazing what you find out on here !

Thanks, I'll take a look at the LG's (and it's not even my thread !!!).

good luck, not sure how easy they are to find and they aren't the cheapest. maybe try the panasonics i linked up above.
#12
Yeah, your model isn't available any more. The current LG, the LG HR400, isn't hackable as far as I can see...

On to the Panasonics then. . .

You can on the Sony BDP-S350 using a remote control hack.
