I would go for a plasma ,but compare the 2 before you make your purchase. I've owned a Panasonic Plasma [TH37] for nearly 7 years and the picture is as good now as it was when I bought it , despite what I'd read about screen burn etc etc. It's a non HD set and cost £1200 from Richer Sounds .I've recently seen a 40" Goodmans LCD at a friends house and I thought the picture quality was terrible , blocky and washed out colours ,so I dont rate the LCD's.

yes i new he said led but its too in its infancy yet ,they suffer like lcds from clouding and have an auto dimming feature which is hard to bear at times ,imo the sony is the best lcd there is ,in in my eyes there isnt a good led yet but there will be im sure.unless oled gets bigger screens off course

i agree

That was me i believe...as the only place for my 42" plasma is opposite a huge bay window! fine at night, but in the day can be annoying for me, the girlfriend doesnt notice it as much.

Ive owned LCD and Plasma and id choose plasma everytime for SD signals, but ive not had the chance to see a LED set yet in the flesh for long enough.

Best of luck with the decision choosing a TV is always a hard one.

I've got a Panasonic plasma - best telly I've ever owned. The days of the dodgy 'burn' plasma screens are long gone, and Panasonic come top with loads of the WHICH tests.
100% go for it
