Hi, Do you know the model number of the TV?

Most likely you will need a standard DVI cable but depends what sort of graphics card you have in your computer.

See this picture below?

On the back of your TV, you will find either the blue connector, or the white one. You may even have both. If you have both, the white one is better than the blue one. The white one is called DVI, the blue is called VGA, and each can be bought for under a fiver online or from any decent local PC shop. Once you buy a VGA or a DVI cable, just connect the TV to your PC, and enter the Display Properties section of the Control Panel.

Im positive i have the blue connection at the back, will have to check though.

I am right in believing that If i connect my tv aeriel and link the pc up, i can switch between the 2 whenever I like?

Yep, you can. Just push the Source button on the remote to flick between inputs.

cheers matey, now to buy the cables. Any recommendations where from, make etc? dont mind getting a good quality one, as long as the picture quality is good.

If you have hdmi on your tv you can do hdmi-dvi and the qualitys better than vGA

Not with my Samsung.

Samsung, in their mind-numbing madness, decided with my telly that if you were to connect with HDMI, you must use either 720 or 1080. Worse still, that dynamic contrast feature is forced-on when it's hooked up with HDMI. What this means is that it gives a picture that is rescaled from 1280*720 (I think) to 1366*768, does not allow the TV to be run at native resolution, and the brightness changes depending on what's on screen in a really noticable and unsettling way. It looks awful.
