could cause a lovely debate with fanboys for both OS. I personally would choose the iphone 4. Although I do like the android operating system. I preference apple and their customer service. If your phone breaks they replace it straight away.
#2
Iphone 4 even though I've got an android handset
#3
If you like the San Fran but can afford a iPhone then why not look at the HTC Desire HD. Much quicker than San Fran.
#4
android if your on a budget else iPhone <3
there is a jailbreak out and if you have the courage you can jailbreak it and unleash the true power there is so much you can customise and add its unbeliveable
(p.s. jailbreaking does not mean you automatically get free pirated apps, which is wrong and should not be done.)
#5
Why have a sour plum when you can have a juicy apple.

yeh thing is i had the original desire and hated it so not sure if its worth a go also i like the san fran cos its thin and light also

the way apple has marketed their iphone, was like it is a MUST have that u NEED in your life...but there are plenty other phones that are do much more than what iphone can do...people had just jumped on the apple bandwagan without even researching into their options...

(dont get me wrong, the iphones are GREAT phones to be honest but expensive)

Get a San Francisco and if you don't like it sell it and get an Iphone. You wouldn't up losing that much in relation to the cost of an Iphone.

i don't wish to jailbreak i like to keep things standard apps arn't that expensive anyway, i just like the fact that you can modify, navigate through data much easier on android than iphone

and HUKD is for utterly moronic fools it seems. A chav with £600 to spend on a phone is highly likely to have been more successful in life than you ever could.

OP:

Odd question really. One is £100, one is £600. As someone else said, if you;ve got the money for the iPhone 4, but would prefer Android, there are a lot better (more expensive) models than the SF.

I'd be wary of stating that your SF does more. Out of the box - certainly, but once you've jailbroken an iPhone theres not a lot you can't do.

If you post a list of features you think the SF does that the iPhone doesn't, I or someone else can advise you whether they can be done once jailbroken.

In that case just buy one (SF) and if you don't like it sell it. If you sold the Iphone and realised you had made a mistake it would be an **** getting another but if you don't like the SF you wouldn't lose that much. I doubt the Iphone would lose that much in value if you waited to flog it.

iphone every day...no comparrison

It's not really a fair question, since the devices are of vastly different grade hardware. In terms of OS and software, I'd go for an Android phone, but if you're willing to spend iPhone 4 amounts of cash, I certainly wouldn't be looking at a San Fran, not when there are devices like the Desire HD with its gorgeous 4.3" screen, the Desire Z with its QWERTY keyboard, or the Galaxy S with its vastly overpowered GPU, all of which pish all over the iPhone4's hardware from great height. There's a wide range out there, a range that's about to get considerably better with the incoming glut of dual-core phones.

Oh, and to VB1 - a £600 phone is nothing when you buy it on credit. And that's why at least one of the cleaners at my place has one.

I already ave the iphone 4 the negatives are:

hate itunes
find it a bit slow now and gain
battery life is shocking
rubbish ringtones etc
built in speakers arn't great
have to be careful with it as screen can crack easily

san francisco pros:
standard copy and paste
fully customisable
seems more fluent through menus
sound quality is quite good
expandable memory
replacement batterys etc

San Fran is great at the price point, running the superior Android OS.

BUT and its a big but

It is significantly less powerful. However you will net yourself about £300 in your back pocket if you sell it for a San Fran. The Desire may be a better option if you are after a better handset.

I already ave the iphone 4 the negatives are:

hate itunes - no comeback, its ****
find it a bit slow now and gain - really?! nothing to add... but wow.
battery life is shocking - no idea on san fran, but the desire/HD has a terrible battery life. iPhone 4 has one of the best battery lifes on a smartphone
rubbish ringtones etc - can be fixed with jailbreaking
built in speakers arn't great - personal opinion I guess.
have to be careful with it as screen can crack easily - true, but im careful with any phone

san francisco pros:
standard copy and paste - what do you mean by standard?
fully customisable - how so? jailbroken, you can change all sorts fonts/icons/intelliscreen etc etc
seems more fluent through menus - havent used a SF, but id be surprised.
sound quality is quite good - as above, not used one
expandable memory - SF beats iPhone
replacement batterys etc - its a fair critisism, but ive never bought a new battery for any phone ive owned. is it really a problem?

Keep the iPhone 4 for now ... then when the new dual core phones come out get one of them .Samsung galaxy S 2 looks pretty good.

fair comments regards to copy and paste i meant just like a usb flash drive. i like to keep my iphone up to date in terms of software so is jailbreaking possible?
also will jailbreaking void warranty etc?
#27
dcx_badass
Jailbreaking is available for 4.2.1, it does void your warrantym but it most cases you can just restore it before taking it to apple (unless something like the dock connector fails) and they won't know.I couldn't use my ipod touch unless it's jailbroken anymore. IOS is pretty **** on it's own. Jailbreaking makes it usable.

ok i know im lazy but is there a guide on how to do it?

I sold my 3GS and bought a desire HD, was nice for a while but I found android to be a bit 'buggy' so I swapped it for an iPhone 4 and am much happier now!

If you can afford to, i would buy a San fran but keep the iPhone for a while, see which one you like best after living with it for a few weeks!

can any guide me how to rooted and froyo upgrde my san francisco plese.
I unlocked it and use t-mobile but 3g connection failed T_T
Any 1 can help,thanksss

I already ave the iphone 4 the negatives are:

hate itunes - It is actually quite useful, eg if your phone suddenly breaks now and its not got ituens ( eg an android device ) you're fu##ed. anyway there is a jailbreak tweak called pwntunes, which removes the need for itunes.

find it a bit slow now and gain - SpeedIntensifier or fakeclockup, along with removing langpakcs - jailbroke tweaks, simple to do

battery life is shocking - Apple and their amazing customer service will replace it

rubbish ringtones etc _ the ringtone is pretty good imo - but there are jailbroke tweaks for that too

built in speakers arn't great - nobody needs them anyway, unless you're the kind of muppet to play music out aloud in the street - there are plenty of docks and speakers especially for iphone

have to be careful with it as screen can crack easily - be careful! its a £500-600 phone! or get a case :)

Lol i miss phone calls on the iphone cos the speakers are ****!,

ringtones ARE crap!. but its easy to customize them anyways

battery is crap on all smartphones tbh, the only ones ive come across which are kind of decent are the e72 and blackberry bold 9700 but they dont view web pages fully whereas with an android and ios you do.

Agreed... atm there is no better phone than a jailbroke iP4
#38
I say why not? It's obvious the ip4 is better but if the SF suits your needs better and would appreciate an extra £250 - £350 in your pocket, then go for it!

Today my son swapped Mario: Bowsers inside story for Sonic Collection for his DS today... Clearly, The Mario game is much better but he loves his new game much more and uses it more often and he also has £4 left over on a gift card!
