You can put Xp or Vista on there no problems, my brother runs Vista onhis.

if you do put windows on just get the microsoft security essentials package, its free (with valid windows) and is rrated one of the best packages around at the moment.

It's easy to put xp on it if it's got linux on it.

Just the stuff that you have on your computer that you are using and put it on hers. and it should be ok.

You can make a bootable USB stick - plenty of details on Google and an instructional video somewhere on YouTube.

first off, you need to be less gullable - santa obviously doesn't exist, and if you'll believehe does , you'll probably believe the pop ups saying you've won a ipiod or whatever.

Then get xp on it and nod32.

Get some extra warranty for the screen, as the screen on mine cracked, and its not 3 months old. Acer are saying it was caused by me, but unless actually putting it on a table and using it causes the screen to become cracked, then i don't see how it was my fault. You can google for more info.

I would stay away from Acer as they are a bunch of immoral crooks :x

pointless buying extended warranty on ANY computer - laptop netbook desktop - all pointless. Save your money to upgrade in a year/when it breaks.

dunno much about pc's, but that sounds more a server error than a pc error.

i don't use chat myself but i did test it when i got the pc and it worked for me.

there are a few forums out there for acer aspire one and i'm certain that community will put you right. there were one or two small things i needed to clarify when i got mine and the aa1 people were great in getting the right answer for me.

don't give up - just ask the questions and you'll get the answers.
