Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5670 or my XFX Geforce 8800 GT

Should I keep with my 8800 or upgrade to the 5670? I was looking at getting the XFX Geforce GT 250 that was posted from scan for £50 but aria are doing the 5670 for just over £60. Is it worth paying the extra to get the 5670 or get the GT 250 or stick with the 8800? All 3 are 512mb.

I can sell my 8800 to cex for £43 so I would pay £10/15 on top depending on card to upgrade to.

Do any of the games you play need any extra power? Could you spend that £10 and effort else where and get more fun out of it?

The 5670 wont be noticably faster than the 8800gt in most games but the gts 250 will be around 20% faster,

Yes but the scan one is an under clocked green edition so probably even less than 20%.

To the OP save your cash if the 8800GT works fine and just keep an eye out for deals on 5770 or GTX260 upwards.

Just thought whilst I updated the motherboard, cpu and os i'd do the gfx at the same time but I will keep an eye out for a 5770 or GTX260 going cheap.

Does anybody think or know if 8gb of ram is overkill?

It is now, but it may not be in two or three years time.
