Hi, I've just attched a Samsung F3 to my old pc as a bit of an upgrade. PC was originally PATA connected to the old hard drive, so I am using a IDE to SATA adapter from Ebuyer. When I try to boot the PC it will not allow me to enter either setup or boot manager from the motherboard splash screen. It saya it is loading, but never does. Everything still works with the old drive and it will still boot into XP normally, so I'm pretty sure that I haven't broken anything. It just will not enter set up or boot menu when the new drive has the SATA cable connected. Do I need to do anything with jumpers on the board? All I want to do is get the drive recognised and boot from the DVD to install vista. Any ideas? What other info might you need to help me?
Many thanks in advance.
