I've had Sat Nav on my phones or Car systems for as long as I can remember........ but have noticed something pretty strange thats quite annoying!
My first setup, was with a phone and seperate wired receiver. Then an upgrade, with a better receiver and new phone, then with a phone with inbuilt GPS and now with 2 seperate navigon sets... they've all got one thing in common!
They all worked fine at first, but over time, the ability to receive a signal seems to fail or take so long to track, that the journey is over before it kicks in.
I went to Alton Towers earlier this week for 3 days and stayed in Derby. The receiver took the whole journey (about 40 minutes) before it started working. I could understand, if it had just stopped working..... but taking so long is just weird. Strangely - both my Navigons that were with me were acting the same way. (The missus joked - and it was meant as a joke! - that maybe they dont have Satellites up north - I'm begining to wonder!!!! )
Like I say though, having had 5 different set ups, they all seem to suffer the same fate..... and take yonks to track to be able to navigate.
Anyone else find the same - or am I just unlucky. (Or better still know why?)
