SAVE MONEY ON BOXED PACKAGING FOR POSTING ITEMS!

Do you normally send boxes with stuff via Royal Mail at this time of the year and buy boxes only for that purpose? Or do you post eBay items the same way? Well, one good way of saving a bit of money is to ask nicely and take home different shaped/sized flattened boxes from your local supermaket/shop and re-use them. If you open it inside out just by carefully un-gluing the joining glued edge, you can then turn it inside out and then re-glue the very same joining edge. Thus, if you now unfold the box again, you have a nice, clean looking box free from any visible adverts! And at the same time, you recycle them to a good use too...

and make sure the boxes are as small as possible for the contents as this is used now as a parameter in the pricing.

i reuse boxes and envelopes i receive from my purchases, bigger boxes i cut down and use the cardboard to wrap around items and secure with plenty brown tape.

Yes, cutting cardboard boxes into rectangles, also can be used to stiffen envelopes. However, the thickness has to be around 3mm only, so that you can still post it as a letter (upto 5mm thick). As a stiffened envelope costs quite a bit, you can save a lot using this method - and the receiver can also reuse the cardboard cutout in his/her envelopes.
And yes shanecr, I too 'sandwich' material between cardboard and tape the sides. Finally, if say you want to post a roll, you can roll one cardboard side around it... the combinations and possibilities are endless, but the more we recycle material this way, the cheaper for everyone.

I recall those sections. Guess it was taking up valuable floor space so less profit to be had

ROKO, this is not a windup. You will be surprised to know how many people use boxes the same way they get them to post stuff.
Good heavens, I am new to this website, but just out of interest, do people who post always get nasty comments from others for something they post, when they have only good intentions at heart? Best then not to share anything with everyone, if that is the only way to avoid getting such comments!

Me too.

Also order jiffy bags, sellotape, labels etc from work. I approve my own orders.
