It's obvious that some of you have issues with Saverstore.com and are voting all Saverstore.com related posts cold. Obviously you're welcome to you opinions, but it's worth stating a few facts because opinions seem to have been formed on misinformation and hearsay.

1. Saverstore.com is owned by Globally Limited. A different company to Watford Electronics who owned Savastore. Yes, Globally Ltd now occupies the old Watford Electronics building, and yes a number of the previous management team are involved with Globally Ltd. That's what often happens when there's a management buy-out.

2. Had there not been a management buy-out, lots of people would be in a worse position than they are now. That goes for customers, suppliers and employees. The buy-out was the best option for everyone.

3. Prior to going into administration in Febuary 2007, Watford Electronics had traded for 35 years and hadn't previously gone bust - contrary to what people have posted on here.

4. Globally Ltd is not about to go bust. Note: to be selected by Google to take part in its £10 off £30+ orders, merchants had to satisfy very stringent conditions. Globally Ltd satisfied these and is financially and operationally sound.

5. Watford Electronics was forced into administration because it had its credit removed due to bad results posted by other players in the industry. Watford Electronics didn't charge customers until goods had been shipped (unlike others) and relied heavily on this credit. Without the credit, it became insolvent and had no choice but to enter administration.

6. No director of Watford Electronics is a director of Globally Ltd.

7. Globally Ltd has totally changed the business model to ensure better service.

8. At the end of the day, Globally Ltd is simply trying to offer customers the best possible products, at the best prices and with the best service. It's companies like Globally Ltd and websites like Saverstore.com that ensure the industry is competitive and that customers get good deals.

Feel free to rant and rave as much as you like. Hopefully we can set a few records straight.

Interesting post, Thanks.
Can I just ask, who are you? What is your position in Saverstore.com/Globally Ltd?

Feel free to rant and rave as much as you like. Hopefully we can set a few records straight.

1. Watford Electronics running Savastore left £3.5m of debt the last I heard. It also left customers in the lurch with outstanding orders and no warranty.

2. Watford went into administration and happened to be sold that same day to Globally who happened to be registered days earlier at the same address. http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2007/02/09/watford_aftermath/

But on Wednesday, Watford Electronics went into administration. At 3.30pm that same afternoon, according to a statement posted on the firm's Savastore website that day, a firm called Globally Ltd "purchased the business of Watford Electronics".
Globally had been established just days earlier, according to Companies House. Its registered address is Jessa House, 1 Finway, Luton. Watford Electronics/Savastore also operates from that address.

3. I'll leave further analysis to other members who have ended up wasting a lot of time over this issue but let's be honest and just admit that you're still the same company with a different dressing and some fancy fiddling around with companies etc. That's the problem - despite what you may believe Saverstore is still known to be Savastore and old customers are not going to let that slide very quickly.

4. Happy for the facts to be posted, however keep the reality distortion field to a minimum please. You are upset that members don't like you, well you pissed a lot of them off. I would suggest spending time taking care of customers instead of complaining on the boards that no one likes you.

5. The issue here is trust. Savastore/Watford lost any trust with customers as well as creditors. It's not easy to gain back trust and a name change will not go far towards that. All I can say is that Saverstore/Globally have a long row to hoe to get back into a position where savvy consumers will trust them again with larger purchases.

Business development and marketing consultation for Globally Ltd. I had no involvement with the previous Savastore site or the Watford Electronics' set-up that went into administration.

I'm just as aware as many of you that certain parts of Savastore weren't functioning as they should. I'm trying to ensure (from the inside) that Saverstore.com is better - something that would benefit everyone, not least IT consumers.

Now, you can moan about the old set-up and processes as much as you like, but it would be more constructive to air any issues relating to the new set-up in the hope that they can be resolved and service levels bettered in the future.

If you are one of a number of users that vote Saverstore.com deals cold regardless of what they are, please post and tell me and everyone else why. Unless you're among those that work for eBuyer, in which case, probably best you remain anonymous ;-)

There were debts, yes. The admistrator is handling these and has recently been quoted as saying dividends are likely.

The vast majority of customers (95%+) bought branded goods and have a manufacturer's warranty. Some customers who bought own-brand goods don't have a warranty. All outstanding orders were cancelled and credit cards not charged. A few cards were charged for goods that were dispatched but which were held by the courier company. This was against Watford Electronics' wishes.

Correct. It was a management buy-out. Obviously not something that was premeditated and planned for months!

Not quite true. It is a different company. The board members are all different and the business model is different. Yes, there are similarities, but that's the nature of a management buy-out!

I just think that if you really want a strong competative marketplace common sense needs to prevail. And i'm not complaining persay; I'm trying to initiate some constructive discussion.

Agreed. And constructive debate in forums is one way (not the only way by any means) to start hoeing.

When you decided to change the name of the new :giggle: company, how long did it take to come up with the name?

still wouldn't trust them, I'd prefer to use more reliable sites and not risk anything with them

Guys... amusing as it is to take the ****, wouldnt this opportunity be better used more constructively. Don't get me wrong Savastore didnt do me any favours ( i have an aries pc with no warranty now.. thank god its working - just!), but if someone is taking the time to post (on a friday evening too) maybe we should be so quick to throw rocks.

he/she doesnt sound like the usual savastore muppet plus does make some reasonable points. like would we really be better off had saverstore not come back. they seem to be pushing ebuyer as hard as anyone for prices. only dabs has done that since savastore went tits up and dabs never got google checkout. i kinda like the fact the two of them have been fighting a bit of a google price war :-D
#14
But the only reason they are doing this is to make money, not for any customer satisfaction.

Of course they see what people say about their site and would rather not have the bad publicity so they come on here and say this and that to make us all think everythings ok!

Did you mean Consultant? If so, can you explain a bit more your roll in this 'new' Company, please.
#18
Savastore was a very good company. Since the take over prices seem to have risen and P&P has increased (IMO).

I have only ordered one thing from the new "Saverstore" this came damaged. I was not in the mood to get a refund so I managed to sell it on for a fair price.

The Google Checkout feature is good but only about a week to go until that is removed (£10 off £30).

I would suggest trying to match/beat prices of Ebuyer, Dab, Aria and Scan for best bet to get some old customers back.

To many people now Saverstore.com seems to be a "new" merchant. It has many hurdles to jump to get to where Savastore was previously.

Wonder if he re-registers when they change their names to Savingstore.com telling us how much improved they are :whistling:

I would not use them again, whatever they call themselves. I work too hard for my money to be messed about by a Company that may not deliver.

I meant I do consultation. But yes, I'm a Consultant.

My role is to assist with marketing and business development. More specifically customer acquisition/retention, email marketing, the formulation of industry partnerships etc...

Think what you like, but I genuinely think Globally Ltd is trying to do the right thing.

Are you trying to use these forums to 'help' your Company? A bit of 'damage limitation' perhaps?
You must admit, with nearly 50,000 Members, HUKD's members could really affect saverstore or whatever it is called?

I was trying to understand what people are most pi**ed off about and then to see whether there's anything I can to to help with moving forward. There's nowt I can do about what's happened in the past.

I had hoped for some more constructive feedback, but if you guys aren't interested, I'll leave you be.

For what it's worth...

I'm not aware of any shipping problems so don't worry about not getting kit, and if you're worried about getting screwed, pay for orders over £100 with a credit card and you'll be protected.

I would have thought it was quite obvious why people are pi$$ed off with saverstore.com.
Have you tried to get your money back from a Credit Card Company after a company has gone bust? I am in the middle of a dispute now and it's been going on for ages, it's a very long and drawn out process.
I appreciate you coming here and posting, but trust is a hard thing to earn. If saverstore are still around next year I may use them again but don't count on it.
[admin]#28
Hi Saverstore.

As said if you want to build trust and faith in Saverstore again you need to learn to put your customers first and treat them fairly and honestly. Trying to manipulate consumer sites and discussions like this is not a good first step.

There isn't much of a step between self-promotion and shill accounts and if we find continued evidence of either/both we will pull all Saverstore threads regardless of who posts them as per our self-promotion policies.

What's a 'shill account'? :?

Well, I tried the new saverstore.com and ordered 2 low value items (2 usb chargers) a few weeks ago. Received them on time, but one item was damaged, the other item was opened. Emailed the customer service to complain but haven't received any answer from them yet.

I won't bother with saverstore.com anymore until both their customer service and prices change for the better!

I will give you some " constructive feedback ";

Change the company name, move address, they are both far too closely connected to a former company that left a lot of people in the mire, hence the Cold Votes.

Coming on a forum to defend a company with half a story, is not a good idea, as I am sure you are now aware.

I will continue to vote all Saverstore listings as Cold for that very reason.

I had said i wasn't trying to defend what had happened in the past. That goes for the company being in the same building and having a very similar name. I wasn't employed by the company until after both of these things happened. I also have no involvement whatsoever with the set-up of the company.

Again a half story. One thing I dislike is one story in private and another in public. Answer the question fully instead of evading it. If you don't want to then give me permission to post the content of your pm. Let members decide for themselves what the truth is - obviously you think your explanation must be dodgy enough to not post publicly.

Do you know who they are? They seemed to 'stand up' big time for your company and most of their posts have been for saverstore.com.
