Scam text?

Got a blank text other day then about 30 minutes ago got one saying "your parcel will be delivered on 20th June. If you need your delivery on a alternative date reply to this text 1=23rd Jun 2=24th Jun 3=25th Jun"

I have ordered some things from HMV this week and some things from Amazon and opened a O2 broadband account but the Amazon items havent been dispatched yet, and the O2 order was AFTER I got the blank text the other day so unless its HMV I dont know or a scam.

Its just the fact I got a blank text a few days ago from same number that I find strange.

I would but it may be one of those where as soon as you connect you get charged like £30

Maybe the first blank text was just to check you gave a real number?

Sounds to me like a new adaptation of a scam in which fake courier cards are dropped through doors saying hte usual "We rang but you were out" lark, and asking that the recipient calls a number to rearrange delivery, or the goods will be returned to sender. The number is, of course, a premium-rate line, at the other end of which is an overweight bald man with golden 1970s sunglasses who puts you on hold and then gut-laughs until the £15 maximum call fee is met, and the line automatically drops.

Never heard of a scam of this sort. but 95% its a scam.

call up O2 and tell hem to check the charge rate fr that number. Tell them you think it might be a premium number. They will put it in the system and tell you!! This goes for all unknown numbers. Because some 0207 numbers are charged at 40p a min even though they should come out of free mins!!

Defo sounds like a scam, probably best to contact O2 as unileeds has suggested

Why not wait until the 20th to see if something is delivered?? I've never heard of a scam like this but then since when do companys to txt to see when to deliver?? Did you give you're mobile number to all of these companies?? Also if it was from a big company they would have one that comes up their name instead of a phone number like 02 etc. And also they would put what company it is. Never heard of anything like this so just wait and see if something gets delivered!!

Ended up on this forum through googling this number, any idea what it is yet?

Weird thing is i got text today and ordered O2 broadband last night but Ive had numerous texts off O2 that actually say 'O2' in the message and sender name etc....

Another post where i waste my time, no thanks and all that BUT this is the same number i got texted by from the courier, DPD who delivered my Be (o2) modem.
You all get in a panic too quickly
It might be someone mistyped their number in during an order process, and entered ryouga's instead
Wasn't a scam for me, and @notbothered, it won't be for you

Just to let you all know I received the same text from this number earlier today and yes it is with regards to O2 Broadband. Just got my kit delivered by courier
#14
yep defiantly o2 broadband, they text from different number so you can actually reply back to it

I hear that the OP, after seven whole years, is still waiting for delivery of the parcel which was supposedly being delivered.
