My one month free trial finished on the 10th of december, so i cancelled my membership on the 7th and returned my last dvd on the 13th plenty of time to get there by the 16th which was the deadline for returning the dvds.
I was charged £15 on the 17th and they claim the dvds arrived back on the 18th.:-(
Is there anything i can do, i phoned up but they said there is no way to refund the payment.

As the 16th December was a Saturday, you should have really posted it before the 13th given the increased level of postage at christmas. I also seem to remember that the return postage is 2nd class, which takes up to a week to get there.

It looks like you've fallen in to their trap and have to cough up for a months worth of rentals. The best you can do is rent as many DVDs in your paid for month as you can and get a proof of postage when you send them back.

return postage was 1st class so very latest it should have got there was by saturday, but their system probably doesnt register it until the next working day:roll:

I believe if you now cancel your account that they only charge you pro rata for the period you have been a member for and will refund you the difference in what you have paid and what you owe.I could be wrong and the terms may have changed but i did this a while ago with no problem.If this is a no go,then i would at least take a payment holiday over the festive period as you will not get many rentals in over this period.Ring them and see how you stand.There is a freephone number on saynoto0870.:santa:

Yeah thanks i have taken a holiday till the 1st jan.

Its just annoying that they cant be at all flexible, they can see i posted the dvds before my time was up but still wont do anything.
