Feel things are really beginning to bite now...stress levels rising :w00t: :x :w00t:

Have been looking for good deals for families, days out, offers etc to keep active during the hols. Obviously depends on age of kids and your location.

I have started the ball rolling today, found deals on train journeys. Does not seem to be much interest.

Does not have to be expensive days out to theme parks. How about ideas to occupy kids eg picnic recipe ideas. Anyone else got suggestions.

Obviously any good deals welcome

My eldest is only two and a half but I looked after his 5 & 3 yr old cousins last week. I did a chart the night before with pictures of things that they could hunt for.. daisies, a kite, a boat.. etc and took them over the beach. They had a great time looking for stuff :)
I've also made a big flowerbed-box outside for our 2 1/2 yr old, he spends ours digging in it- my mum has a large vegetable plot at her house and he likes helping her dig up potatoes & carrots and stuff, so I hide things in the flowerbed box for him to find :giggle:
He also likes making his own pizzas and cookies... there's an article on the beeb website somewhere about keeping kids occupied. I'll find the link now :)

excluding all computer stuff, only allowed on in the evenings. I know I am cruel but life is just too short. I want to do things with them.

Great site. Nice to hear kids should be allowed to get bored sometimes, feel less guilty.

Hey - that's not cruel. During term time, mine's only allowed on at weekends (and then it's for a limited time)

Takes a lot more effort to get them off computers and away from TV. Only aiming for 2 days out per week. Not doing too well so far

iglimpse, whereabouts are you located?

Last week my family went to a couple of museums (science and natural history in london) and it was a good entertaining, educational day and possibly could have been split into two days with all the things that could have been seen/done and it was fre entry

My family have also been to zoos before and younger kids espcially seem to really enjoy it but it does deped on age like you said
