Some pretty important pictures on the card so need some help in trying to retrieve them. Dont wanna have to throw the card away without having the pictures if can help it.

Rep will be left of course

My xd card did this. I managed to retrieve some photos by making a cd at the kodak machine in Boots. I tried several others and this is the only one that did anything but it takes a while and you need to cross your fingers lol. Couldnt read it on pc, camera, card reader, another laptop, printer or any of the machines in asda, tesco, jessops. The only one was the older kodak machine in Boots but I was able to transfer photos to disc and it only cost me £2.99

is the printer a new printer if not it may not be compatible i had this problem when using a old card reader worked fine on my sd card but would not read the sd hc card.
Try it in somethink new or on your pc with a sd card reader that is upto date and is sdhc compatible:thumbsup:

does it show up as working and the pictures work in camera?

if so then you have to find the usb cable

if not, the next step is to format in camera, this wont delete any picts (quick format) but will allow it to work when you put back into a pc and use recovery software

any luck so far if so what was the solution????

A 4GB DVDR disc costs 17p. Keeping all your important photos on a single medium, one that's likely to get lost or corrupted, is really, really, really stupid.

I hope anyone reading this thread can learn the lesson and backup if they haven't already. It needs to be done.

Mine did this a while ago and couldnt do anything with it on the camera and the laptop didnt read it either - mine was just the lock button on the card had been accidentally switched!
