I have just purchased a Cannon camcorder which in addition to the hard drive takes SDHC cards. I was looking to buy a 16GB sdhc card. Please can somebody tell me what the difference in class is 2,4 or 6?
I was looking at the one for sale at play £17.99 Sandisk 16gb sdhc class 2, would this be any good.
Thanks in advance

Class 2 should be OK for a standard definition cam but would be looking at a good class 4 or class 6 card if you have a HD cam.

Thank you
I have just checked the manual and it states the camcorder will take up to 32gb.
The camcorder is not HD, so I guess the class 2 would do? What difference would I notice if any, going for a class 4 or 6.

Shouldn't notice any difference with using the camera with a class 2 as it should have plenty of bandwidth to cover a SD capture. The only benefit you would probably notice would be slower transfers of the captured media to a pc.

Very basic and not 100% accurate

Class 2 - 2MB/s
Class 4 - 4MB/s
Class 6 - 6MB/s
