    Let me start,

Those silicon tubes that are only half used, I tend to get an earbud, cut it on one side and push that into the nozzle all the way until the wool is covering the nozlle as well.

Always wash your brushes out after you use them in hot soapy water (water based paint) if you use oil based then burn them.

I got a classic one for you ppl -

If your drain pipe gets blocked and you have tried hard to ublock it, then can I suggest you use the cleaning rods but also get your garden hose pipe and attach that to the rod with some black tape.
Push it in as far as it will go and let let the water flow, this will give it a very good clean.

When you put the lid back on the tin of paint turn it upside down and leave it for a few minutes then turn it right way up and store. This helps form a seal and prevents the paint drying out inside.

If you do have paint with bits in then stretch some stocking or tights over a clean container and pour the paint into it and the stocking or tights will let the paint pass through and catch all of the bits.

If using a roller again the next day then put it inside a plastic bag and wrap it tightly around the handle. This will prevent the paint drying on the roller and avoid the need to wash it out at the end of each day.

Another good tip with that wet roller your going to use the next day ..............or even the next week.
Wrap it in a plastic shopping bag or one of those cheap freezer bags you buy on a roll and put the thing in a fridge .Will last for ages and never dry out .

How not to put up a double kitchen cupboard...

I came home to my ex straining as he tried to hold a double door kitchen cupboard on the wall whilst holding a drill and the screws. We had bought the cabinet second hand so it was already assembled with doors.

I gently explained that he only had to hold the cabinet up then use a pencil to mark the holes where to drill.

I've never forgotten the look on his face as the penny dropped.

If your filling a gap or hole in the wall, spray it first with a water/PVA mix. It will seal the dry dusty bits and when you fill the filler grip better
