Ok guys so this is a bit random - but for about a year and a half now (actually it was since scotland got beat from italy in the qualifiers :( ) iv occassionaly had a funny gas smell in my nose (refrain from the jokes here! ahaha) It comes at least once every 2 days or so ... i remember i was gettin the train home after the football when it first happened and was worried incase there was a leak but no one else could smell it.

Anyone any idea what it is and what causes?? Probs should go to the docs as it does leave me feeling a bit sick and very lightly headed!!

Any help is appreciated.. xxx

First sign of brain damage
second sign is asking complete strangers for medical advice

Quite right, see a doctor, my oh gets a strange smell before a convulsion, (some people get a strange taste, feel light headed, get blurred vision or are sick) don't want to worry you but ...

Well i get a random GP each time i go to the docs sunshine so their gonna be a stranger too... plus... all they ever do is give me antibiotics "Oh your legs fallen off, here have some antibiotics" ...so figured someone out there might have experienced this before hence asking :)

Think i may need to give in and go get some antibiotics, er i mean visit the GP tho - its really starting to bug me!!!

"Oh your legs fallen off, here have some antibiotics" - love it! Seriously keep pestering them, have you got a walk in clinic near? But I guess if your legs have fallen off that's a no go too.

All I would add, is if the doctor cannot diagnose your problem then you need to be referred to a specialist.

These unsual things are what we normally call warning signs, and as long as they are caught early many can be dealt with without serious long term problems, but ignoring is like waiting for the vulcano to erupt!

Best advise go and see your Dr, write down, when it started how long it has been going on, what you have been prescribed previously and if it has help, even if a little, what you have bought over the counter, has that had any effect and anything else relevant, does it happen at a certain time e.g mornings etc.

Remember it is our NHS, therefore keeping us all well and away from the serious thing benefits not only the NHS but also the individual and coul improve their quality of life.

Let us know how you get on!
