Hey folks.

Got a Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic here. Comes with an 8gb microsd card.

Its got small scratches on the screen which arent noticeable until you spend a silly amount of time looking at the phone. Its still in good condition and its even got the v50.0.005 firmware on it.

Its also got a different software menu on it. Pictures of the menu in the first post to give you an idea of what its like.

Would I be better getting £70-£75 to recycle it or sell it?

You reckon Id be better recycling the phone. Anybody know how much theyve sold for lately on here or on ebay?

I just sold mine to a mate for £100, you could get up to £100 depending on condition, otherwise just log onto eBay and search in completed listings to give you an idea.

just like your avatar, "doh", i forgot you could search for completed listings on ebay!

Will head there now! Thanks!

they were anywhere between 70 and 95 on ebay without the sd card recently. of course you have ebay fees too.

i couldnt be doing with the hassle of ebay and the likes, check out all the ones that buy phones with no comebacks, after fees on ebay you wont end up with much more and probably double if you get a scammer

My son had the same phone, he registered with Mazuma last Tuesday and £72 was in his account by Thursday lunchtime. As sassie said, less hassle and you won't get scammed.

Fair point sassie. In fact, i remember selling my iPhone on there and it was a total hassle. The guy said it was broke when in fact he didnt realise he had to charge the phone. Might just go down recycle route then since its decent amount of money im getting.

I got the phone for free 18 months ago. Been paying £20 a month with 800mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet, so in total the phone has cost me £360. If i could get back £70-£80 for it, its been a good contract then.

£85 at selloldphone.co.uk, I got £90 for mine from Simply Drop a couple of weeks ago. Not worth the hassle of e-bay imo

That's an orange branded phone right?

Nope, the phone was hacked and allowed me to install new home screen menu's on it. Better than the rubbish ones the UK phones came with. Just a software thing! :)

It was originally from O2, and has an O2 logo at startup.

there was a guy in the for sale/trade forum last week that was desperate for one for his wife! was looking to spend up to £80 - £85 if i remember correctly :)

Or you could sell it on Fo.Lk or even AV Forums classifieds which is good as well.

Hey mate.

The phone is unlocked. Ive been using it on the O2 network since I got it. Its got some minor scratches on the screen - you cant see them unless you look closely at it, and even at that, it doesnt affect viewing the screen one bit.

At the top of the phone theres a small chip, but its tiny - 1mm thick x 3mm long. Looks like a small cut really.

You'll notice in this photo that the phone has the red trim around it, but either my eyesight is away or its a feature with this phone is that when you use the phone not in sunlight, it looks black. as you can see from the other photos.

This is the back of the phone. The stylus is still there but I never use it.

One last thing Ill note is that the battery cover is your usual battery cover. Its hard plastic but if you look at some Nokia 5800's, they have this skin on the cover which gives the phone a smooth feeling. This skin has started to break away at the bottom. Its really un-noticeable and to be honest, Ive only just noticed it myself while Ive been writing this up.

Just being honest with you for this phone. If you are interested in it, give me a shout, and ill then respond to your post in the FS/FT section and we can follow the guidelines on that side so that we keep everything right.

But if you'd rather not go with the phone, dont worry about it. But if you would, Id be looking for £85 which includes special delivery.

Its minor tiny scratches. But they are very light. They dont affect the screen at all in terms of touching the screen to type on it. Its a purely cosmetic issue on the phone, but you are right with that above photo. You can see the scratches light up as white on the screen.

Not a problem! Would much rather explain every part of the phone with you rather than lying about it and then it turns into disappointment and sending phone back and everyone loses money due to postage etc.

Good luck with the phone searching! :)
