As above - I've seen others mention this idea before in FS/FT threads but wondered how easy it is to do for buyers... and if there's a limit on the amount that someone can 'gift' you.

Any pitfalls?

Rep for anyone who can fully answer my question(s)

This doesnt fully answer but I tried sending payment to someone the other day and I got charged for sending but the seller didnt as it was their gift.

Not on ebay you cant as it automaticaly uses paypal as the checkout, plus there is nothing in it for the buyer considering the extra bit of effort it takes. Using gift option means there is no longer any buyer protection for them, if someone asked me to pay via gift on ebay I would tell them where to get off and likely report them, they could also report you as a NPB and dodge the FVF!
