If I want to sell some user guides that were being thrown out by my company, is it then ok for me to sell them on eBay?

The only reason I'm asking is because of the anti-piracy warning that was shown to me just before I was due to submit my auction.

I read the links they provided me, but there wasn't anything in them that stated I wasn't able to sell the user guide.

Are you attempting to list a counterfeit or non-authentic item? Are you aware the listing of such items is not allowed on eBay?
If you continue, your listing will be flagged and promptly reviewed. If your listing appears to offer a counterfeit or non-authentic item, it will be ended and your eBay account could be suspended. We may also refer your listing to the relevant company or law enforcement for review.

If the item is authentic, we encourage you to provide more information in your listing. If it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity or has a serial number please state this in your listing.

We appreciate your help making eBay an even safer place to trade.

Warning: Do not click the submit button, unless you know the item is authentic.

Word of warning..........
You will be ok selling these until you get too good ( your
rating becomes higher and possibly become a powerseller )
then you will reported to Ebay ( probably reported by your competition )
your listings will get pulled ( and if you have lots of listing and they get
reported at different times before you have had chance to read your first message
from Ebay you will have your account suspended............

It depends on the user guide, if its a book that is available for sale elsewhere on its own then it should be fine.

However, if it is a guide that comes with the software then it may be classed as "Works" of the publisher and they could claim that it should only be sold with the software, which may result in your listing being pulled.

Basically what happens now (from what I've gathered) is that if you put certain keywords in the title of your listing, e.g. like "Adobe Guide" then a copy of your listing will be submitted to the Adobe account thats VERO registered with eBay, they will then scrutinise the listing for any breach and if so it will be pulled.

If in doubt then its not worth doing it just for a few quid.

These would fall into the latter description and you are right about it being for just a few quid...although I got over £15 for a Photoshop guide last month, with no such warning presented to me before listing :(

I wont list :) cheers all
