Halifax is £9.50 if you do it online, £19.50 over the phone - Think you need to have an account with them also...otherwise not sure how you'd transfer the money.

i do have an account with them, but from the review, it was quite bad., just wondering, what other way is the best and cheapest to send money abroad

Last week I sent £500 to son in Australia....and Firstdirect charged me £20 He was charged at the other end too, although I'm not sure how much

Have you thought about via Paypal? I'm unsure of the charges but might be worth looking at.

And yeah the reviews are bad, but nobody will ever go online and say how great an international money transfer was...well not many anyway.

will only cost you £7.50 if you follow that - by adding the code when you set the payment up.

I can't really comment on the service as I've personally not used it, but it seems fairly straightforward. Just check the rate etc before you send so that you are clear on how much will be sent across - also take into account that the receiving bank may charge a fee also - aslong as you are clear on these there shouldn't really be a problem.

I'm going to sent to a GBP account, so rate shouldn't be a problem. as the recipient would receive it in GBP as well.

thanks. considering that too, but from the review, their service was so bad, they actually delayed the transfer for so long. that's my concern..as it needs to get there this week.

Hello madame,

My name is prince kakawoowoo and I'm looking to help you in the transferring of monies by the western union. I can help you eliminate fees for the transferings and also have a financial opportunity that I have hand selected you for.

My cousin Dr Tamm Wenku has accquired 6 million US dollars as part of a taxings rebate in an oil deal. He is willing to give me half of this as I was secured in the venture with him, but I need to process and admin fee of 1500 US dollars, if you can help me with this processing fee I immediately transferings of 10% of my 3millions dollarings

Kind friends, and wishes
