weigh it then go to the Royal Mail website and look at the Price Finder
(http://sg.royalmail.com/portal/rm/PriceFinder?catId=23500532&gear=pricingcalc)

put the weight in and select "Packet". Voila, there's your price.

Courier is usual cheaper. BTW it isn't a packet it would have to go rail mail parcels as it is too large to be in the packet category

I recently sent a PS2, ~25games, a steering wheel, 4 controllers, multi-tab, ... (i.e. a big box) and it cost me ~£15 recorded delivery

DHL normallly cost about £8 for an xbox I go through parcels2go and have sold both my previous xbox's and couriered through them . ;)

i sent one through parcel to go and paid around £7.

whoops, didn't see it was controller and console - thought it was just controller, hence "packet" suggestion. My bad!
