7 years ago today, doesn't seem that long ago, I was at school at the time didn't really fully understand understand what had happened, I think it's mad that Bin Laden is still out there somewhere

Anyway RIP to the 2998 innocent people who lost their life that day

Please keep this respectful rather than turning it into a racist debate

can we not make this a thread against different cultures

it is the minority element of confused individuals that perpetrated events and i'm sure they weren't all muslims :whistling:

I remember it well, was in Magaluf at the time and all the bars wouldn't put the news on. We ended up in a tiny bar with about 150 other brits. The misses was very upset for the rest of the holiday. I was ****** off having to wait for 17 hours at Palma airport!

I'm sure someone will tell me what `a r s m` means.

Seven years on and still no closer to the truth.

I was working in good old Matalan doing some crazy shift so wasn't really able to keep up with what was happening until the nightshift came in and told me, I honestly couldn't believe it had happened. When I saw the footage I felt such a horrible chill, thanfully I didn't know anyone who was part of it but my thoughts go out to those who do as it was a terrible event.

I have no idea either, but there was no need for it. Get the feeling it's not something nice though!
There are good and bad people in every walk of life.

I made a tribute video, about this a while ago,
to the Bruce Springsteen song, Into The Fire.
Which is about this tragic event.
If I can find it I will try and put it on you tube or something
if you would like.
It is only an amatuer video though.

From my military background it is a Regimental Sergeant Major, basically the highest non commissioned rank in the Army or Marines

I remember hearing the news bulletin, its the first time i'd heard a prison workshop go quiet, then the second plane hit and that was it...............total disbelief even amongst prisoners, shock, astonishment.......it was like a sea of disbelief had crept over the place....lock-up that night had all the cons tuning into news stations on their radios to find out more.....

Oh ok :).

I'm not sure exactly what I was doing on that particular day but I reckon I was oblivious to it all until I returned home where I spotted it on the news, certainly no-one around me mentioned anything.

Is it really necessary to bring that nutter into the conversation? The less said about him the better, esp. today.

I wasn't in the Navy at the time (i'm not anymore either i've left now) but I was for the July 7 attacks over here and they was bad enough. I was at a very high security base and within minutes we was removing civilians from the base.

We went to Bikini state Amber, which basically means there is a substantial threat, we didn't stay on it for long though and soon went down to black special which means there is an increased threat

The scale is; Red, Amber, Black Special, Black, White

Prior to September 11 the UK rarely strayed off of Black but since then we haven't gone lower than Black Special. We have risen a few times but I can't say no more :whistling:

lol I know what you mean, it's quite funny that the bikini system is a country wide threat level but no one outside the MOD really knows about it, I think they should have a bit in the paper every day saying that mornings level is!

Which base are you working at then if you don't mind me asking?

Hey whether you like it or not you are all racist.

You all hate a type of Muslim.

I dont mind the religion, or the people who belive in it. The problem lies when certain Muslim people go to the extreme and start blowing things up.
