Serious question - what do you think its like after you die?

Not sure if this is too inflamatory to post - apologies if it is
What do you think is out there after you die? If its some kind of existance is it a sitting on clouds type experience or with jobs to fill the time? and if it is jobs and tasks - what happens when they go wrong? i.e. is it more of the same sort of cack that happens here and now?
I dont want to upset people but was lying in bed last night thinking there has to be something after this but I cant imagine how it would work

Christ, bit early in the morning for me really!! Lol.
I think there is definately something but not a clue what and I guess I'll never know until my time comes! How cheery lol
#2
Suppose it depends on your induvidual beliefs. For me, its eternal heaven or hell depending on how I lived my worldly life.

This is obviously going to get differring responses based around religion.

But, when you die, thats it, gameover. There are no clouds, no thoughts not even darkness. The end.

Bingo.

lol like you said the responses to this thread will differ, and what a difference in beliefs between yourself and mine. I believe even when we're dead we'll be able to see the people surrounding us, obviously unable to move / talk.

I totally agree with Gov on this one ... live, Die, Finished

...... & on this one I hope I am wrong

personally i think ther is nothing after this, you die and thats it.
There is no after life , its a myth used by religion to keep the masses in line.
To keep us adding money to their coffers to buy absolution, people just have to accept that life for some is *****. You have two choices put up with it or not. Someone days are good some days are bad, its just a matter of not letting the bad days get you down.
just my opinion
i am ready to be shot down

On one of my local churches it says on the outside building:

'if you believe God don't exist, you better be right!'

That's really cool x lol

Nothing happens you just die and either burn in a crematorium or rot in the ground

Theres no proof of heaven it was just made up to explain what happens when you die - basically a fairy tale for kids to believe

People believe heaven was in the clouds but we can fly now and its obvious theres nothing there

Sorry but if you believe in afterlife your deluded

POW POW :whistling: lol everyone is entitled to their opinion, fair enough you stated yours. But then the question arises - 1) what is the purpose of your life? 2) does everyone have the same purpose in life?

1) Enjoy myself and then live out my days in new zealand
2) well everyones different
back on topic
I think religion is a good thing its brings out goodness in people and in some religion terrible things e.g killing people as they believe them not to be pure

Religion is a good way to keep the world sane and keep them on steady course - if you told people tomorrow there is no life after death there would be panic people would quit their jobs and do what they wanted

Imo theres more proof that middle earth is real and that frodo was real than god - as it has a believable story and seems to be something of a legend

The bible is a great book fantastic imaginations and great morals but thats all it is a book nothing more

and jesus well he was a crazy travelling magician who (because of his parents presurrising him) went mad and starting thinking he was a god

1) god knows, lol, been thinking about it for the last year . just seems to be work to pay the bills.
2) all i see around me are greedy selfish people who only care about themselves not others, its called society. i feel out of tune with the world , as a person i have always done the best for others. It just ends up these days with people not caring and using you and then walking away when you need help in return.

you are in a white room with just a screen and everyday there is a crazy missprice at amazon and the best bit, they honor it!

Don't know if you're aware of a song called Many Men by 50 Cent. Your response reminds me of a line from that song:

'...death gotta be easy cause life is hard, it'll leave you physically, mentally and emotionally scarred....'

I still believe your life is in your own hands though, live your life right and heaven awaits you.

Not really. Although I have been preaching the wonders of evolution to some Muslim mates of mine. They aint having none of it. They are all about god creating everything.

Look at the stars and galaxies. Try to comprehend the vastness of the universe and time. We cannot see or comprehend what came before time and what comes after. How can we understand what comes next.
I don't think its a matter of just religeon but of understanding.
I must admit I have sat looking into the stars at night and wondered whats next.
My answer.
Don't worry about it.
Live a good life.
Don't hurt others but help when you can.
Don't be good just to get some ever lasting glory.
Be good because you care.
If your life is pants just now. Don't sit back thinking the next one may be better.
Deal with this one and work to make it better.

Enjoy.

Totally agree. Do you think that flies and spiders go to heaven? Why should they be different? You all think the above for 'insignificant' creatures, why shouldnt the same apply to us.

Well what I believe is the animal kingdom is inferior to humans, therefore an animal reacts to God's commands, where as us humans have been blessed with free will.

Again you may agree or disagree depending on how you define 'God', weather you think he exists or not etc. But then you say you should share the same fate as the 'insignificant creatures'

Wonder if flys and spiders ahd a jesus equivalent

I don't believe there's anything, at death the unique neural electric pattern that defines 'me' will disappear and that's it. It's a difficult and uncomfortable thought but I do like to think along the lines of Picard's remark in Generations:

"Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives. I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived."

Exactly supposidlyanimals dont go to a so called heaven yet what you have to remember is we all evolved from monkeys ............exactimondo
People die everyday - little children of diseases - theres floods - tornados - famine - if thats gods plan well it seems were praying to the wrong god

As for the afterlife well show me proof - i think all that happens after you die is you life inside your mind watch "what dreasm may come" the thing in his garden is what i imagined

Do you think a cat, dog or horse has been blessed too? Or are these inferior? Just because they have less intaligence doesnt mean they have a different fate to us, sadly some humans have little to no intaligence due to brain damage and other problems, are they blessed? (Sorry for the spelling.)

lol you put a smile on my face there, very ironic. Yes I believe the animal kingdom is inferior to us humans, I didn’t quite understand what you were trying to say for the last part, but from what I gathered you're saying if a human has no intelligence or has suffered brain damage are they blessed?

Yes course they are, they have their free will regardless of mental capacity, I believe any animal does as it is told by God.

God backwards is dog :p

We are all re incarnated and come back to the same life over and over again, and when we right all the wrongs we have done, we then move onto our next lives on another planet and become aliens.
Honest. :)

You know that sense of de ja vous you get when you are sure you have done or seen something before? It because you have!
