Okay, bought myself a 1080p 42" Clarity telly, as advertised by Edi last week. It arrived yesterday and, well, it'd be great, if it didn't look utterly rubbish when it's supposed to be looking its best. That is, when it's set to 1080p 60hz resolution, being fed by an nVidia 6800GT graphics card, over a DVI to HDMI cable.
There's three problems with the image quality. First is that it's blurry. Second is that it's forcibly being oversized, so that the edges of what should be onscreen are lost to the TV's frame, third, is that it appears to be interlaced. There's a youtube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJaAh1HOVyY
which might give you an impression of it.
I'm three days from calling Tesco and telling them to send their couriers to take it back. If anyone's got any suggestions on how it can be made to look like it should - that is, crystal clear, pin sharp, and not total pish - I would much appreciate it.
