I really can't work it out, i enter the pop data and it keeps asking for user name and password.

Any ideas why?

Did you follow those websites from step by step and your using Microsoft Outlook 2007 for Windows ?

Have you tried clicking remember username and password?

I tried syncing yahoo mail and outlook quite a while ago and couldn't get it to work. So I contacted yahoo customer services and was told that outlook will only work with the premium version of yahoo mail, which you have to pay for. Needless to say I didn't bother trying any more cos I'm not prepared to pay for an email account.

As far as I'm aware, the pop mail facility is only available on the yahoo plus email - ie the one that you have to pay for. They made this change an absolute age ago. :x

I have got 2 yahoo accounts, neither of which I pay for but if my memory serves me right then you have to activate POP access from within the email admin console.

Just checked mine and you need to sign in and then choose Options > Mail Options > POP & Forwarding. You can then setup POP access.

I have had my account for a few years so they may have changed things since.

Hope this helps.
