Hi, i have a xbox 360 its flashed, i hardly use it, i got it free and also have the hd add on!
Now, should i keep the 360 or should i get a ps3? whats the benefits with the ps3, ie
it can play divx? it has usb support, can u add linux and how do u add extra hard drive?

Can u store films and stream like the xbox 360?

All in all what is a xbox 360 hardly used i may have the boots reciept with it, 2 pads, 1 play and charge kit, pgr4, pgr3 and pro evo6 worth? fully boxed including all wires etc?!

Have both ! lol

Well, ingame XMB is coming very soon (summer) and HOME is also coming out. There are a good few exclusives such as MGS4, Haze, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2 etc.
I haven't really watched anything on the ps3, but I'm pretty sure it supports DIVX, and you can save music, photo and video files. Extra HDD is at the bottom, u pull out the plastic thing unscrew a few screws then pull it out and away you go! The max you can have I think is 750mb which is brill cos PlayTV is coming out very soon, so you can save all your programmes.
40gb ps3 has 2usb ports and 60gb has 4 usb ports. You can use a mouse and keyboard. There are specifically designed Linux's to install on to the PS3..
40GB plays PS1 games and does not play PS2 games but there are downloadable games on the PSN.
Bluetooth is very handy aswell as you can sit quite a bit away with no wires

well ive been hearing alot of probs from people about the 40gb breaking down BUT sony care told me that if you didn't travel with the PS3 alot then it wouldn't break eg. moving it from one room to the next.
But Sony come to your door and take ur old PS3 away and give you a brand new one, or if you have a 60gb they give you a refurbished 60gb :)
The 60gb has 4 USB ports and a card reader slot.
The internet is great, Youtube loads fine etc. But for some reason Hotmail doesn't load, hopefully that will be fixed in the new update. If you install Lunix then you can get firefox and a messenger service. If you have a fast broadband then I recommend using wireless for it, but if you have a slow broadband connection then you are best using ethernet connection or else some games will be laggy as hell.
Your PSN friends limit is 50, you can send and recieve messages normal. Theres also a chat function which allows you to add all your PSN friends to do voice/video chat. You can sign up for a Japanese/USA psn aswell if you want to get the latest demo's or games. You can buy Japanese games from the JP psn by purchasing PSN cards from Fleabay (range from £6-£20) which is great because you can buy Biohazard (Resident Evil)
There is probably other things I am missing out on but it is 4am in the morning lol

Oh and I downloaded a trailer for MGS4 and it just looks brilliant

Another thing that's important to add is that the 60gb PS3 is backwards compatible with the PS2

I have a 360 and i bought a ps3, now the ps3 is on ebay.
I'd stick with the 360,unless you need blu-ray.
Would be better to pick up a ps3 later in the year when the AAA titles are actully out,

sell them both and move to a cave!

You bought the PS3 on impulse, and never even played it.

I just got a PS3 free with my phone contract. I've already had a 360 for over a year. I was kinda surprised that most of it's top games are multi-platform. As a result I've got most of them on the 360.

I'm still looking for a decent exclusive, to play now. No point listing MGS4, FF XIII, Resistance 2 etc, none of those are out. Any recommendations?

PS3 will start to look a lot better when the above exclusives start coming out.

.

Resistance fall of man, Motorstorm, Uncharted, Unreal Tournament 3 (Bloody brilliant), Heavenly Sword, Warhawk (Online only) GT5, Tekken Online (Downloadable from the PSN), Time Crisis 4 (Not out here yet but I've played it and its really good) Folklore

I forgot to mention that the ps3 is completely region free, so you can import from anywhere in the world

I did have a xbox 360,sold it and now have a ps3.
The main difference for me is the ps3 has a web browser, that and the fact you dont need to pay to play online unlike xbox live.

After the recent death of HD DVD I'd resigned myself to getting a PS3 for the Blu-ray but luckily a friend got one first so went round to his for a veg session and to watch a disc see what its like, well after 3 main titles and 2 rented ones and a rented Blu-ray film 'Resident evil extinction', I can happily say I'm sticking with my X box for now, I can't say the Blu-ray looked better than HD DVD and the only down side to the X box for me is the noise and possible reliability problems . They all seem to have their own pros and cons so the best way if you can afford it is to go for the hat trick and get all three.....

hmmm thanks mate

stick with the 360 THIs year, unless you want to play mgs4/Gran truismo It wont have much else as 'exclusive' and the 360 does anything the ps3 can do with it eye's closed. What with the new falcon/benq/hdmi models for under £150 its a no brainer. Amazing console for the price.

If you want a web browser or a criplled version of linux then get the ps3.

There seems to be so much misunderstanding about both consoles. high def is high def. Blu ray and HD DVD were competing hi def formats. Neither was better than the other in terms of quality, sony just got all the studios behind them thus killing HD DVD. You wont notice better quality with blu ray but you might notice the fact that no new films will come out on HD DVD..

I've had my xbox a week now, and it's much better than my PS3 was to be perfectly honest. Through the HDMI it looks as good as the PS3 on my HD 1080 tv, the sound is better through my TV speakers and my amp, and I bought two second hand games for £22- Tony Hawks and Burnout Revenge, which is just so cheap. I'll get a PS3 again, but I really thought it'd be when GTA comes out- it'll be when MGS4 comes out now, because I know GTA on the 360 will be just as good.
Oh and also I sold my 60GB PS3 for £300 and got an xbox Premium with six good games for £237- now that's value!
